The staff was friendly and professional. My room was not the cleanest which is sad considering the cost to stay at a hospital. The food was bad as is the case with most hospitals, but this hospital is worse than any hospital I have ever been in. Low sodium.....I get it. Bland food.....I get it, but in the attached photo, that's supposed to be beef stew.....It appears to be cold because of how thick it is.....It was warm!!! It was beyond nasty. I wouldn't feed it to my dog. On top of the fact the cooks cant cook, I was an inpatient long enough to have been served 5 meals. On EACH meal my tray was missing multiple items and sometimes did not match what was on my meal ticket that comes with the tray of food. 5 times in a row is not a mistake, its incompetence. The tv had permanent circles on the screen which is annoying. Again, especially since the cost to stay at a hospital is so exuberant. A person has certain expectations and standards when they go to a hotel, a hospital should be held to an even higher standard.

Nurses, doctors, housekeeping personnel were all very concerned about my health. They were always very professional, caring, sympathetic. Always tried to take care of my family members who were with me as well as myself. I was blessed to have such a wonderful team of men and women from May 27th thru June 17th.

They are rude in the ER. If you are not dying they do not care about you. There were a few that was friendly. Both ladies at the front desk were super sweet. The nurse was sweet but the doctor thought he was too good for that line of work. I had questions, he walked out. Oh, before he came in, I asked 3 times for some water and to go to the restroom as at that point all I was waiting for was results. I hit the call button, got hung up on. The doctor showed up randomly so I said something about being hung up on and that I needed a restroom. Was given the restroom. Still 4 hours later no water. He then comes in and asks me if there was something I wanted to tell him. I had no clue what that meant. Anyways I proceed to ask questions, he walks out the door and down the hall. I'm done with this hospital. It will be a cold day in hell before I ever go back. I better be dying or dead.

Came into the ER with my mother and got here about 10pm after driving 30 miles. It is now 5:15am and we are still sitting in the emergency room with the same 4 people in front of us. Good thing my mom is ill and not dying because if she were I would have lost her by now. The only person came and said anything to us is the nurse signing us in. This is beyond ridiculous! We have literally been sitting here for hours and still nothing. I started to call 911 to the emergency room to see if that would help us get service. If they don't wait on us by 6am we are leaving and can wait for the doctors office to open. Our entire trip to the emergency room was for nothing and OUR EMERGENCY wasn't an emergency to Phoebe Sumter.

The hospital has infringed upon my rights and the rights of my grandmother. My grandmother wants to see me, was expecting to see me, and I spent all evening with her the night before, and tonight when I get here I’m told that a family member came in with a poa, and he’s only person (along with his wife) allowed to see her. A poa goes into effect IF the patient is incoherent, deemed incompetent, or unable to speak, etc.
IF A PATIENT IS COHERENT, ALERT ORIENTATED X4, & AWARE OF HER SURROUNDINGS, SHE IS ALLOWED TO DECIDE WHO VISITS HER, SHE IS ALLOWED TO MAKE HER OWN CHOICES.

Hospital refused to go speak to her, refused to check the legality behind their actions. My grandmother NEEDS ME AND WANTS ME BESIDE HER AND THIS HOSPITAL IS VIOLATING BOTH OF OUR RIGHTS UNDER THE LAW.

To add in, this is a federally funded hospital, which means in order to be compliant with their funding, they cannot limit visitors from patients (related or non related). So they are also in violation of compliance with their federal funding.

This is the absolute WORST hospital I have ever been to in my life!! Took them almost 3 hours just to get me in the ER room, and took another few hours just to get a CT SCAN and results. Then they only said to take some antibiotics and pain meds….and when I did research on what they told me I had, it said DO NOT take antibiotics with this condition, only ibuprofen! Like seriously? So your goal was to make my condition worse? I went back a couple days later with problem still persisting, and I was the only one in ER waiting room and it took them over an hour to get me back….to where I saw all the workers/nurses around a desk just talking about nonsense instead of helping anyone. I will NEVER use this hospital for ANYTHING again!

Took my husband to the ER for right side/back pain. We got right back as they weren’t busy but then proceeded to sit. Called the nurse because he needed something. They told him they’d be in shortly. An hour later nothing. Not a check in or follow up. As we walked out there were 3 nurses sitting on their phones and the doc was behind the desk chitchatting about his personal life with a nurse. Those 3 nurses appeared to be in the same position as when we walked by in the beginning. The young nurse that checked him in was nice enough. I don’t get it. He was obviously in pain but not one person came in and checked on him for over an hour. So disappointed.

To have waiting room full of ppl since about 6am is crazy. They don’t have enough seat or warm blankets for the elderly ppl. No one is seeing the doctors, they are only taking vitals and labs and then your left in the waiting room for next 7-10hrs waiting for help. There has been a young lady here since 12 that cut her fingers off and has yet to be seen. The lady working the front desk but the ppl waiting to be seen are told there aren’t any. This place sucks
