We stayed here two nights in early September 2024 so that we could take a West Point tour and visit some other places in the area. We had a one bedroom suite, which was essentially an apartment. It was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small with almost no counter space, but they had a drawer which made up for that. The AC worked well, with separate units in the bedroom and living room. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The hot breakfast was fine, with eggs and meat. Note that non-military people can stay here.

My wife, family, and I stayed here for our wedding weekend at the end of September and had a wonderful time and stay. We had the whole second floor to ourselves and the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Mary was exceptional. She was extremely helpful and generous to us, especially while planning our stay over the course of the summer. She has her guests' best interests in mind and is just a wonderful person to interact with. We will miss her!

Pleasantly surprised by our great stay here! The room’s furniture is certainly outdated but everything was impeccably clean. We typically stay at very high end hotels and I was concerned about having to stay at the 5 Star Inn but we would actually go back for a future visit to West Point. Last time we stayed at the Thayer Hotel. Honestly, this hotel was just about the same as Thayer in terms of room cleanliness and staff friendliness.

Wow! I expected the IHG to be better than it was due to it being at West Point, NY. I have stayed at a few IHGs and this by far wasn't the most pleasant experience. This is an older hotel and can tell the property is trying to be updated. The moths and other flying insects were attracted to the light and came out at night. Although the room was sprayed, the flying insects came back. I am not sure where the flying insects was coming from. I mentioned this to the customer service staff and they informed me that it could be coming from the AC unit. The HVAC was loud with the air blowing directly in your face. The bathtub wasn't fully cleaned and the shower curtain needs to be changed. I noticed there was a lot of surface cleaning. The smell of the carpet and blowing air, triggered my allergies. I hope that in the near future, the carpet would be changed. The staff was exceptional!! Ms. Narell was excellent and very pleasant! The housekeeping staff was very accommodating as well. Again, I am appreciative of the lodging however, I believe West Point IHG Army Hotel could be better.

Easy to access, large parking area. Very kind and friendly staff. Helpful staff and well lighted main reception area. Large well furnished rooms and comfortable beds. Things to purchase and the breakfast is tasty with great portions. Many Drinks to choose from, Hot or cold. Comfortable seating pleasing to all. Great for families and guests.

The Five Star is my go-to when visiting West Point. The staff is extremely friendly and they go out of their way to serve guests with their fantastic hospitality. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The hotel is well-maintained and a great place for an extended stay, as they have a living area and good size kitchenette, which is great for an individual or family. The location as the closest off-post hotel is also a huge plus for convenience. The hotel is also very secure. The breakfast is excellent, to include a hot breakfast, many options for food and drink, and great coffee. The interior has been updated and is very nice, with many new finishings and furnishings in the room. I always enjoy my stay at the Five Star and can't recommend it enough to anyone visiting the area looking for a quiet, friendly, clean, and safe place to stay with top-notch customer service and such an amazing location. I can't wait to return to this hotel in the future and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Wish the stay could be better. They have decent size kitchen in the room everything that you need to stay for 1 night but why. I knocked down 1 star was because the night I stayed there they were doing maintenance with the sewer line. With that they left a note saying let the water run for hot water. I did for a while but to no avail. No hot water for showering so big bummer everything else was fine. Definitely better than any other hotel. Other than that the hotel is pretty nice compared to others

This hotel is old, but it is very clear that efforts are being made to keep it clean and to make guests feel welcome. The front desk person (Mary) went out of her way for us when we checked in, and all other front desk personnel were helpful as well as gracious during a time when the elevator was broken. The continental breakfast was unexpected and nice.
