The Cyclorama is impressive. This was my first time seeing it since it was relocated from Grant Park. We entered an elevated level by escalator where a movie was showing. It is interesting to see how the interpretation has been revamped to reflect current sensibilities. Going downstairs, we were able to see the diorama and figures up close. Be sure to find the figure of Clark Gable, which he requested back in the day. He is depicted as a Union soldier, who died with a smile on his face.

A grand spectacle with lots of support aids.

I came here with friends from out-of-town. I hadn't seen this since I was in the 5th grade. Its amazing.

Its a big, cylindrical space with a platform in the middle for higher viewing. When you enter, there's an escalator that take you up to the platform. When we arrived, a 10-minute film was showing about the cyclorama. It is shown on the wall, over the painting and wasn't easy to follow but there are sub-titles.

Down below, there are displays and touch screens to offer more information about the art work. It was not crowded and we took lots of time to explore. As you can see from the photos, the foreground and background blend beautifully.

This museum is worth the time. I’m not really a museum person, but this one was fascinating! The Cyclorama is incredible and a must see if you are in Atlanta!

I have gone to this museum a few times. I have always enjoyed walking the grounds and finding something new to read. I am a medically retired marine and have always appreciated when places like this discount or let us in free. Well they took away free entry for all vets and offer a $3 discount. Keep your $3 that’s a slap in the face. I don’t mind paying something but that’s just rude all together. Cost of freedom I guess.

Unfortunately we were short on time. The painting and display are amazing, I'm glad it's been restored to the original. Too bad we didn't have time to read the information.
