I have been using this office for over 15 years and it has recently been going down hill very quickly! Dr. Yamato is great but all the others are rude and incapable of proper care. I went in and was told my ears were a little red and throat was a little agitated. Given some meds and sent home. Called the next day in the morning due to feeling even worse and they couldn't be bothered to call be back until closing. Telling me to go to an urgent care at that time, which my insurance don't cover. I made an appointment on the following Monday and was treated horribly. Then given different meds. When I ask them later to fill out paper work for my work they informed me I was not sick enough to stay out of work, they would only do a doctors note for the days I was seen and not the days in between. How do you get to tell me how sick I am when I am suffering. I am not the kind to just miss work. Rest assured I will never use these people again.

The waiting room is always neat and clean. The wait time is only a few minutes. The nurses and Doctors are very professional and helpful.

Update — Although my negative experience with certain office personnel remains unchanged, Jennifer eventually reached out to follow up and my issue was finally resolved. Dr. Chung was still as great as my new pt appt.

Overall, my new patient appointment with Dr. Chung was great. My issue is with the staff. I’ve had to reach out repeatedly to ask for someone at the office respond to a request for more info from my insurance. Kathy and Misty were beyond rude and will speak to you in such a condescending tone. It’s been 3 weeks since my appt and my insurance still hasn’t received a response. I was told numerous times that my records have been sent, and when I call a week later to follow up, I’m told by another staff member that nothing was ever sent. This will be the second time my insurance denies my authorization due to not receiving a response from the office.

These people hold parents to an unreasonable standard. Realistically a parent makes 1/3 of scheduled appointments, the child gets better, it’s a false alarm, or life is too busy. Here they have no understanding and kick the child out. They lie when saying a cancellation won’t be held against you, customer service is atrocious at best, and they practice industrial generic treatment not family medicine. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR CHILD PLEASE!

I have been using advent over 10 years. I’m considering finding new medical service. The orthopedic office lacks communication with their patients. I had a mri done few months back and they never contacted me to go over the results. I had to ask them about it months later. Also have been told my foot pain is 2 different things, they can’t seem to get it drilled down. Then today I contacted my family dr at owasa to get a prescription re-filled. Cayla returned my call and she was the rudest person I have ever dealt with at Advent. I was so angry when I hung up I was looking up other family practices in Calhoun to change.

Mandrea Kearney saw my daughter on a ruptured eardrum this August 3rd. She had been to Urgent Care for the initial diagnosis. The doctor recommended she her family physician if it did not get better. After seeing the NP, she was told that she would need to see a ear, nose, and throat specialist. She wanted her to go to Dalton for this care. My daughter informed her she was a student at Kennesaw, and could she get a doctor closer to her. We checked parent portal 8-19, and her referral has still not been taken care of. In her notes, she marked her with depression and anxiety instead of focusing on her ear. Which by the way, she hasn't had diagnosis from any of these doctors she is currently seeing, so how can she mark this as an active issue. NO BED SIDE MANNERS.

My family has been going to this clinic for 25 years. We have seen a lot of changes especially since adventhealth took over and I can't say that they've been for the better. The providers have always been wonderful the front office staff has always been wonderful it seems to be there is a lot of managerial or micromanaging that goes on that suppresses the joy - that Owasa used to have. I will continue to go here because I I like my provider. If I could have afforded to follow doctor Naymik I would have left then - she is the gold standard of care.
