Went to this hospital ER for severe shortness of breath, chest pain & cough. Staff out front was wonderful. The male nurse I had tried to start an IV and had to have hit a nerve, was very painful and now my pinky and part of my palm are numb and I was screaming in pain while he just dug around until I screamed for him to stop multiple times (3 times i asked please stop). The area he tried to start the IV has a large lump and still hurts. Upon being discharged I was given 3 prescriptions and when I took them to the pharmacy I was told the one had a moderate interaction with a medicine I'm on (I did provide the hospital with a list of my medicine) and was told that it could cause irregular heartbeat. Called to tell the ER & ask for a different antibiotic. The male nurse who butchered my arm trying to insert an IV got on the phone, was very rude and ended up hanging up on me. Prior to being hung up on, I explained the medication should've been checked against my current meds prior to me leaving to which he responded "not necessarily". So not only did they put my health at risk prescribing a medicine with contradictions, they also caused a new medical issue with my pinky and part of my palm when the man tried to insert the iv and repeatedly screamed it hurt. I'd never felt pain like that having an IV inserted. I will NEVER return to this facility. I'll also be making an appointment regarding the new injury I sustained to see why my pinky and part of my palm are numb now. I was told the "doctor isn't available" when I asked for a different antibiotic to be called into my pharmacy, and I stated I had a limited time to get a new prescription due to having an infant who's hungry and needs to go home to eat and my pharmacy closing soon.
Plus, I was shoved in some little 8 foot by 6 foot room with zero privacy (curtain doesnt fully shut & everything i said could be heard by other patients and i could hear everything other patients were saying), had a male nurse lifting up my hospital gown which made me very uncomfortable. I was there 3 hrs to get a chest x-ray, bloodwork and ekg. I'm appalled at how poorly I was treated when I called to ask for a different medicine and explained I was at the pharmacy & couldn't wait 20-30 mins for a different antibiotic to be called in. They act like they only staff one doctor at a time.

I’m writing this review with deep concern after a troubling experience with my mother’s recent emergency care. On Saturday, she was taken to the ER at AHN Grove City due to serious symptoms—confusion, extreme weakness, constant shaking, and an inability to use her hands. Despite the severity, she was sent home with a diagnosis of lung inflammation, without further investigation into her neurological symptoms.

By Monday, her condition had worsened significantly, and she had to return to the hospital. Thankfully, this time the ER physician took her symptoms seriously, ran necessary tests, and transferred her to UPMC Passavant, where she is now finally receiving the care she urgently needed days earlier.

This experience has made it clear to us that the quality of care at AHN Grove City can be inconsistent at best. It's heartbreaking to feel that your loved one’s health could be determined by chance rather than standard, attentive medical practice. I urge others to approach this facility with caution and to advocate strongly for thorough care if you do go.

I drove an hour to get bloodwork done here. My doctor said I can go anytime for this bloodwork. When I got there they told me I had to have it done before 11am because of fedex. It says this no where on my paperwork or anywhere. I got there at 1120am. I am so disappointed I wasted my time and gas.

I had to go get bloodwork, the people are very nice, however this is the 2nd time I tried the cafeteria. This is what I paid $6.11, she said it was western scrambled eggs and 3 strips of bacon, mind you I haven’t even touched the food yet, I just threw it in the trash

I was taken by ambulance to AHN Grove City on January 12, 2024. I was very ill and my treatment at this facility was exceptional. I was visiting a family member when I became ill and I have my insurance thorough AHN/Highmark, so I chose this facility. I am so glad I did. The doctors (Dr. Bobbett and Dr. Bowling) were amazing. They listened to my concerns and symptoms and provided me with excellent care. The nursing staff was amazing as well. Amy Davis was my primary nurse and she was kind and helped navigate my care with compassion. All of the medical staff was kind and compassionate and I am thankful that I went to AHN Grove City for my care. My heartfelt gratitude for helping me get on the road to recovery!

Probably the worst hospital I've been too. The staff in the ER seem to not give 2 cents about their patients, except for maybe 1 or 2 nurses. If you expect to be admitted, you better eat something, because they do not care if you are hungry, or have not eaten in over 12 hours. The wait time is horrible, regardless of how busy they are, and it seems to be that there is zero communication between staff. My mother-in-law was there for 16 hours before they told her they have to transfer her to Pittsburgh

i have two great experiences with this ER.

most recently, i went in with plans to commit and they immediately treated me with care, took me seriously, and found a bed for me at a mental hospital. when i was uncontrollably sobbing through the night i had to stay there, nurses checked up on me. i was given many blankets and food (even pizza!). anything i needed. genuinely felt as though these nurses were concerned and happy to help me. i already was feeling better being there, unlike in the mental hospital that had a bed available. (generations in youngstown, ohio. 1/5 stars.)

earlier this year, i went in with terrible cramps on only one side. they immediately did all these tests and not much time passed before they diagnosed me with an ectopic pregnancy. i know some nurses would have looked at me and said “take a midol.,” but not AHN! they listened when i said my grandmother, who was a nurse for decades, knows this is something severe. AHN saved my life that day. they flew me to pittsburgh on helicopter to get me the surgery i needed to live. they also explained everything that was happening to me thoroughly and in a way a scared patient.can understand. they were so comforting through this traumatic experience. i am so eternally grateful that this is the ER close to home! i would compliment nurses and doctors individually if i remembered their names!
