It sure is life-changing when one moves from your home to independent living, but they will never understand until you come and actually do the tour!!! My mother and I fell in love with AH Wildwood instantly. I find myself to be extremely particular, and this decision was very important with my mother. ALL staffer’s are wonderful…. Directors, front desk, receptionist, Maintenance, Sandy in the dining room, you name it. Even Dee, who comes in to personally hang ALL your pictures, shelves, and wall mount your TV! The minute you walk in it’s so immaculate and inviting. The units are spacious (even when you think maybe it’s too small (like is on the Colorado) turned out to be perfection!! The amount of activities offered help your loved one engage, and become part of the community. When you do your tour, you’ll hear about all the wonderful things they offer. I would list it all on here but it’s probably best to go in for the surprise. It’s basically resort living. We are exceptionally particular about our food, and the menu is outstanding along with the taste. Extremely accommodating to what they want. With my mother, having been there only one week, she is thriving more than she has in the last 20 years of her life. We are so grateful that she is in wonderful hands and has these opportunities. Can’t stress enough to book a viewing just to see it yourself.

I’ve had to change my review from 5 to 1 star. My Mom did not live there 6 months before rent was raised to 5151.00 a month. Now, about a year later, her rent has jumped to 5514.00. The last time I visited we had to request the pool and hot tub be cleaned. Someone is getting very rich!

I visit there every week and do not hear complaints. I have only heard good things about the food.
All the employees that I know are wonderful and seem to love their jobs. I think the apartments are the best around because they all have washers and dryers and full kitchens and all are a generous size. I always tell the ladies that when I grow up I want to live here.

OK, well thought out business model. They need some help in culinary, but expected when you try to cook for 300 people or more. Employees are very nice to residents and a welcome addition. Keep up the great work.

My sister lived here for almost 7 years. You could not ask for a better, more caring facility. Would not hesitate to recommend the complex to anyone looking for a wonderful independent living experience. Reasonably priced and great food.

This is truly an amazing facility. Before moving my parents into American House I checked out 27 facilities. Each company I would tour with I would ask, where would you want your parents or yourself to live and the greatest majority was American House. So very thankful this was both my and my parents choice in October 2020. We lost my mom this December of 2021, but so thankful she was able to enjoy her new home here for that time. So many people that live and work there are like family. During Covid my parents still had a life there even though they had limits for safety. My dad has decided to continue living at American House after mom’s passing. His life is good and full there. We are so happy he is staying.
The rooms and facility are wonderful and restaurant is like non other. You order off a menu just as in a restaurant three meals a day. They have a vast amount of activities for all, bus trips, transportation to grocery, pharmacy, clothing and many other stores, restaurants, shows, outings etc. They have local entertainers regularly. Most important of all is the amazing staff. They truly care about the residents and they do not have the continuous turnover of employees as the other places do. My husband and I have already told them to keep a room open for us. We have picked American House to be our next home when we are ready to give up all the work involved with owning and maintaining a home. GREAT JOB AMERICAN HOUSE👏

I am a nurse practitioner that visits this building, and I have found the staff to be amazingly friendly and helpful. Also, the facility itself is beautiful with the wild west feel to it very clean, very kind, one of the best places in Sumter county .I would certainly choose to live here in my golden years.
