Love walking these trails. So much nature to observe and enjoy. The dock walking path to the right of the trails has wonderful info graphics about the trees and wildlife. Worth the visit. I am unsure if there is access to a restroom though 😅

I didn't realize this fun cultural and historic site was nearby in the Pensacola/Milton/Pace area. The entry fee is $5 or $6 for adults and $3 for children under 18, I believe, and includes access to the museum and the homestead site. You can visit the walking trails and outdoor areas for free, but for the first visit, I definitely recommend checking out the paid areas.

It was fun and interesting to learn about the early history of the settlers in this area! It's definitely worth visiting. Just keep in mind the hours of the museum and visitor center if you plan to visit.

We happened across this place a bit by accident but are so glad we did! The boardwalk is an easy walk with lots of interpretive signs along the way that help you realize what you are looking at. I learned a LOT about the history of the mill and the area. The visitors center was closed so we didn't get to see it but we will definitely be back to check it out. I'd advise bug spray but even without it we only got bit by 1 mosquito so it still was very manageable. We loved spending a few hours in nature and soaking up the history. Highly recommend. We plan on adding this into our weekly walking routine.

The Arcadia Mill Site in Milton represents the first and largest Early American water-powered industrial complex in Florida. This was a multi-faceted operation with various mills, shops, a mule-drawn railroad, and a sixteen-mile log flume.

I did not get the chance to go in the museum as I arrived when it closed. I did get to walk the boardwalk trail which led to the mill ruins and other points if interest. The trail was well maintained and easy to navigate. I really enjoyed reading all the markers which covered the history of the area. I will have to go back again to visit the museum and the nearby Arcadia homestead.

Great little hike for a family. Short, and trails can get muddy after rain. Beautiful area but you will drive through a neighborhood to arrive, so it can seem like you're going the wrong way, but Google Maps directions are accurate.

Great place for a quick hike: mainly shaded and lots of boardwalk.

We were there on a day they were closed - but the trails were open for walking. The trail is well maintained, and would be fairly easily accessible. Loved reading about the history of the area, and seeing some of the remnants of that history. Even though we were there during the off season it was a pleasant little walking area, and I would return. .
