Autostadt

My visit to Autostadt was nothing short of incredible. I knew it was large, but the sheer scale of the place completely exceeded my expectations. I’ve visited many car museums over the years, and this one comfortably ranks among the very best. What makes it so special is the size and ambition of the entire complex. Each of the Volkswagen Group brands is showcased in its own beautifully designed building, creating an immersive experience that blends automotive history, innovation, and architecture in a way few places manage to achieve. It feels less like a museum and more like a living celebration of mobility and design. One unexpectedly memorable highlight was the famous VW currywurst — absolutely sensational, especially served with crisp frites. It was such a simple pleasure, but it perfectly matched the atmosphere of the visit. I walked in expecting to spend a few hours and ended up staying the entire day. By the time I left, I had walked 12 kilometers inside the complex — and it never once felt repetitive. The true highlight for me, however, was meeting Marco, a Volkswagen tour guide whose knowledge, passion, and infectious enthusiasm elevated the entire experience. His energy and love for what he does genuinely brought the Autostadt to life. He is an outstanding host and a real credit to both Autostadt and Volkswagen. I also want to commend Jerome and Beatr for their excellent service and warm hospitality at the entrance to Autostadt This visit reignited my appreciation for Volkswagen after many years. Autostadt is a must-visit destination — I’ll absolutely be returning, and next time I’m bringing friends.

The place is large and loads to look at, i was slightly disappointed how unorganised and cluttered everything was due to there deconstruction of the winter celebration and the long way to walk around everything. There is only one bridge to cross to get to the other side. The food in the continental was plenty and the staff was very nice. The pavilions had the newest car available with fancy paint and interious to show what's possible. My favourite part was the car history museum where models from the 60s all the way to the 2000 where on display, Bugatti, Lamborghini and even a DeLorean. Over 8 floors and show rooms there was the spot I was spending the most time in. The Autostadt is very specific to VW fans but the museum is a place for everyone who likes cars.

Nice place for weekend day trip. The car museum, car towers and VW experience center are great. Other places are just fine. Has some good kid friendly places as well.

Sep. 2025 Autumn... It's an interesting and knowledge base learning tour not only VW but other car manufacturers, Tour and Tower & VW Factory tour worth attention and a visit. Lovely architecture building bauhaus design.

If it is your first time you will love it. The car museum is so nice If it is your second time it is the same. I have been here in 2018 and only things that changed were the sliders for the kids/adukts near the 4 chimney and of course there are new car models but... not so much change. You pay 20€ to see the cars and touch the production ones like in a regular car store.

Great place to visit with the family and have some food. The car museum is definitely worth a visit and all the stuff was super friendly.

If you are into cars and the automotive industry then this place is for you, it has a good playground for the little ones and for food you have restaurants and a bakery. It’s near the railway station and they have a huge parking lot that doesn’t cost that much. It’s worth the visit though you’ll a good chunk of the day to cover everything.
