My brother and I went on the historic ghost tour put on by the museum. It was very fun to hear tales about the town while walking around town and to be able to explore the museum at night. Everyone was very nice. I think this would be a fun stop on a trip through town!

Everyone in the Castle Rock area should check this place out at least once!
The Castle Rock museum is definitely worth a visit. Tons of history about Castle Rock and the area. All the volunteers are friendly and very knowledgeable. It is housed in the original Rail Road Depot with graffiti on the walls dating from 1875. Many interesting artifacts and pictures.
They have a walking tour of Castle Rock led by the volunteers that tells you about the town, buildings and ends at this museum.

Nice little slice of early Castle Rock. Building is an old train station that was transpoted to current location for use as a house, then was transformed into the current museum. Has a lot of old photographs and relics from the early days of this region of Colorado. Admission is free, but they do ask for donations, and there is no reason you should not give generously.
