Doctor gray is awesome! I send a message through the patient portal and usually hear back the same or next day asking if i want to get an appointment! Couldn’t ask for better.

Dr Manning changed my medicine on first visit. Turned 74 in september 2023. Was diagnosed with sleep and anxiety issues in 2002. Have been subscribed trazadone and Xanax for sleep and anxiety for 22 years.on 1st visit to her she changed my xanex prescription and I had 60 ordered on nov.11 2023 for 60 which ran out on Jan 16, 2024. Now she change prescription so I can't pick up until Feb. 16, so I am stuck with no xanex for.30 plus days. Not sure what oath she took, be very careful if you need a controlled substance

Not interested in helping their clients. I have a complicated allergy, and I was told to go research my own medicines? This office never answers the phone, the building is not in the best shape and going here was a waist of time. I am medically in the same place I was almost a year ago when I started coming because Mrs Reins has not tried to help me due to researching meds being too hard. They tell you that they can't help you, but then tell you to come back in 3 months? Why?

I must preface this with some comments on how wonderful the front desk and appointment setup people are. They try to be accommodating and the ineptitude of the medical professionals there is absolutely not their fault. Those poor women interact with so many frustrated people and are still so pleasant.

The medical professionals on the other hand leave everything to be desired. I was seeing Dr. Ziglar before she left this practice and she was the best doctor I have ever had the good fortune of interacting with. She was phenomenal. But when she left, I realized the rest of the medical professionals at this practice were even less proficient than others in the area.

The intake nurses are competent and caring and seem capable, those are not the medical professionals who deserve my ire. The physicians assistants and nurse practitioners, on the other hand, don’t care and don’t have a clue. You will wait 3 months for an opening, wait an hour in the office, spend 10, maybe 15 minutes with them and, even if you have painful and disruptive problems, will be referred back in three months. They don’t even take the time to refer you to any specialists unless you articulate that is your desire.

Unfortunately they will not genuinely listen to your concerns and will consistently have a condescending demeanor. I intend to leave this practice once I do my research and find a more reputable and caring practice. That being said, I’m more likely to get better and more thorough care at an urgent care clinic, but that says more about the area.

This practice is associated with Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, which is its own special area of frustration and callousness, but no need to go into detail here.

TL;DR

Don’t come here. The staff is great, but the physicians assistants and nurse practitioners don’t have a clue and don’t care. Go somewhere else and you might end up not feeling like you’re being rushed out.

MISTREATMENT AND NO TREATMENT.
I've been going here since Dr. Old sold his practice. The whole time I have never seen a Doctor, Only pa Vonda Raines. I have had 5 major deadly cancers in my life and had my lung removed feb 2021 due to cancer. Since then I have had several medical related issues. After being in the hospital for a week in April 2022 due to lung expansion pushing heart and causing an esophagus restriction I was told to follow up with my primary by my Gastroenterologist. When I went the next day of my appointment, I had caught a stomach flu the day before & threw up that evening after eating half my dinner, and while waiting to go in to see the pa, I threw up my breakfast in my car in their parking lot. I went in terribly sick, and white as a ghost.
Pa raines did not check me out at all for that- she only discussed my hospital stay. She did give me something for nausea. On the 1st I saw a different PA due to dehydration and extremely low BP and was told to go to ER and be Admitted-she was very nice and did further tests to find out what was going on with my blood pressure being very low due to being dehydrated and suggested I go to the ER and be admitted. I wasn't admitted because then my bp was ok and I was treated for dehydration and released. I saw V. Raines on the 2nd and explained to her what the other pa found and what took place at the ER. She said my bp was normal and there was nothing she could do for me. I returned on 6/20/22 because my bp had been extremely high when I woke each morning, everyday since. When she came in the room she had a attitude and told me: " John! You are not coming in here every week telling me my job!". I told her I was only there due to my BP issues.(Please note she said every week). The nurse told me to write down my bp readings at home when I was there on the 1st so they could be evaluated, and ms raines completely ignored the list of 5 days of readings due to my bp being normal at that time of the visit. She also ignored my plea for help due to my bp being high 1st thing in the morning when i wake(147/110, pulse 121 on average every day) and said again that she could not do anything for me! I called the director Cory Arnold the next day regarding and he conferred with her and Dr Green and who Ive never seen and never had any input prior to-who also stated there was nothing he could do either! Mr arnold called me that afternoon and said ms raines said I used profanity on the 2nd and I did not! There was no conflict whatsoever that day! I'm a Christian and I do not use profanity. Mr. Arnold, and. dr. green Also ignored what I had to say and only believed her lies- not me! She was telling deliberate lies about me to cover up her own actions and mistreatment/not knowing what to do about my case or ignoring it. She is a wanna be dr, but is only a glorified nurse who does not keep accurate records and does not confer with the Dr regarding cases. I will never return there again and I'd advise others to do the same. I have been told of her mistreatment of others who have seen her also. My issues remains untreated and is a very dangerous thing that could cause stroke or heart attack and kill me. I looked it up and it is called Morning Hypertension. Also when I logged on to My Portal thru them(Chesapeake Regional) on the internet; my records were incomplete and lab results, etc. have not been inputted in the syetem. Several health issues are not listed/noted in my medical History. Beware!!! I was put out of the practice as of 6/21 by letter from arnold. Stating ineffective client patient relationship.. Claimed I was given 30 days of date of ltr to be seen and was refused!Again saying v.raines,dr. green and mr. arnold said Mr. Weaver theres nothing more we can do for you. Ain't that sumptin!!!

DO NOT choose a Dr. Here. Dr. Manning is the worst doctor I've ever seen. I visited once and found her to be egotistical and more concerned about her agenda instead of why I was visiting her. Initially she continued refilling some of my medications I have been on for years (she refused to continue my Adderall). Two weeks ago I requested a 90 refill on my medications because I was leaving my job, which means no more insurance until I found a new one in the state I'm moving to, and she refused that so I tried getting a 30 day refill and that was refused as well. Now I have no more insurance, and she's forced me to quit antidepressants cold turkey. I called and left two messages for her nurse over a week ago and still haven't heard from anyone on her staff. I will be filing complaints with whatever medical boards I can and leaving reviews where I can because I thought "do no harm" was supposed to be part of the oath.

DO NOT GO HERE! If you want quality health care with doctors and staff who care this is not the place. The supporting staff is rude and condescending. They act like you’re bothering them when you have questions. The doctors never call you back to answer questions or give bad or off blood results. Instead the assistants call back and can’t answer any of your questions or concerns. They tell you your appointment is at 7:30 only to arrive and be told there was a strict arrival time of 7:20. There is no empathy, kindness, or care about this place. STEER CLEAR! I have worked in healthcare most of my adult life and understand the difficulties that face many healthcare workers but this office is run poorly and the staff is horrendous minus one phlebotomist who was kind and careful. Go anywhere but here, if you go here you will be sorry.

I have been a patient of Dr. Raines for many years and she is lovely. I have been having pain and tried to walk-in today to be seen. I spoke with a nurse who was unprofessional. She thought something was funny enough to giggle about since I could not come in a few weeks ago on there time because I was broke. She told me I could not be seen because my doctor was not there and no other physician can see me and they were booked for the day and tomorrow. There was one patient in the lobby who was taken back as soon as I walked in and hardly any cars in the parking lot. I have never seen the place so dead. I was sooo upset and in so much pain.
