Very Pleased!!
Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Craig Thomajan, a podiatrist, along with his dedicated team. I was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience.
I arrived early and was greeted by a friendly receptionist. Even before my scheduled appointment time, I was called back by a very kind and professional medical assistant who took my history. Shortly after, Dr. Thomajan came in, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with his approach.
He quickly and accurately diagnosed the issue with my foot, provided clear instructions on how to manage the condition to prevent it from worsening, and prescribed a topical medication to alleviate my symptoms. Additionally, he addressed another concern I had and reassured me, which was a huge relief. Dr. Thomajan was warm, personable, professional, and attentive throughout the visit.
I was out of the office within 15 minutes of my scheduled appointment time, but the visit didn’t feel rushed at all. This speaks volumes about how well-organized and efficient the office is. I left feeling confident that all my concerns were addressed.
I highly recommend Dr. Thomajan as a skilled, compassionate, and professional podiatrist. His office is a shining example of excellent care and efficiency!

In Jan 2020, I used Dr. T for bone fusion surgery. Upon my first step, I knew something was painfully wrong. Dr. T was unable to diagnose the problem that existed post-surgery as "all the xrays look good". He would build new orthotics (about 6 in total) to solve the pain. Due to intense pain, I sought other help. It took 3 more doctors, 2 EMGs and several MRIs and 2 more surgeries to find out: the surgery needed to be redone, my leg's neurological system is irreparably damaged, the nerves between the toes were bound up in scar tissue, the foot’s sesamoid bones were damaged (redo surgery allowed them to heal). I’ve waited 4 years to write this review ensuring I was finished with corrective surgeries. Dr.T was a nice man to work with; however, he did not work to resolve the issue that new orthotics weren’t solving. Neither did he refer me to other doctors when he saw that something had gone wrong that he was unable to diagnose. I now walk with reduced pain and limited shoes options.

I have had arthritic MTP joints (in both large toes) for 20 years (thanks to long, high arches, and walking bareful with twin-pregnancy weight), and have seen about 5 orthopedic surgeons + 4 podiatrists + 5 PTs (all supposedly expert in feet) over the years. My sense is that Dr Thomajan is the smartest, most energetic, & most thorough (in terms of # & type of xrays done each time).
I haven't done (fusion) surgery yet (it's major!), but I'm mentally ready for the process b/c Dr Thomajan is very clear about what happens and all the devices (shoes & scooters, etc.) that I will use. Depending on what your issues are, he'll brings in affordable pairs of orthotics, surgery shoes, etc. for you to try on to get a sense, and get solutions on site/before you leave. He's very thoughtful and eager to take questions, find answers, etc.
Austin should hang onto this remarkable top-doc as long we can!!

Dr. Thomajan is fantastic! He knows and explains his stuff, gets right to the point, and has helped my foot feel better for more than 6 years. I recommend him and his practice unreservedly. I live 20 miles away and have no issue with traveling an hour in rush hour traffic to see him!

Dr Craig Thomajan listens and works with the patient. As a physician, I was keenly aware of how well he listens to his patients and formulates a plan based on the patients needs combined with evidence.
Dr Craig Thomajan and his entire team made a huge difference in my life running, rowing, lifting and working day to day.
Anyone with heel pain or burning neuropathic pain from heel spurs limiting them should make an appointment with Dr Thomajan @ Austin Foot & Ankle Specialists.

My son had an ingrown toenail, and it was getting worse. When we went to see Dr. Thomajan, it was swollen and painful. I had no idea how they could solve the issue without causing him more pain, but Dr. Thomajan was fantastic! My son did not feel anything; we were out within 30 minutes, and it healed beautifully. Thank you!!

He did a lapiplasty on my right foot for a bunion nearly a year ago. Now I can jog long distances like I used to before the bunion gave me trouble;I am very pleased.

The office manager, Jen, went above and beyond to straighten out a mistake on my insurance company's part. My insurance company kept telling me Dr. Thomajan was not in network, but Jen asked to be on a 3-way call with myself and my insurance company and proved that Dr. Thomajan IS in network- thank you Jen!
Update:
My local foot/ankle doctor highly recommended Dr. Thomajan for my tarsal tunnel pain after I went to PT for 2+ years with no lasting results. Dr Thomajan demonstrated strong expertise via conversation and clinical observation skills. He surgically released my tarsal tunnel nerve and my pain went away during recovery. I am almost one year out from surgery, swollen in my foot/ankle from pregnancy, and still no tarsal tunnel pain. I highly recommend Dr Thomajan- he went above and beyond to listen to my many questions and was very respectful of my travel time when coordinating appointments and surgery (3-4 hrs one way). Most importantly, this is a doctor who cares about getting his patients better and solving the complex problems with the most knowledgeable, skillful method available. He clearly loves and cares about his work, challenges, and doing the best job possible.
