Great artsy shops to find unique gifts and house furnishings. Downtown is safe and clean. Great small town atmosphere with good restaurant/bar options. Glad the corporate chains establishments are located uptown.

I absolutely adore Downtown Mebane. The shops, the food, the cleanliness, the atmosphere are all 10/10 in my opinion. I love bringing new friends to the area and they end up loving it just as much as I do.

I don’t get all the positive reviews for downtown Mebane. Although the town itself is great and growing the downtown area leaves a lot to be desired. There is no featured attraction here, the main strip itself is small and all the power lines are an eyesore. There’s not even a downtown YMCA or a permanent farmer’s market shelter. There’s a few shops, bars and restaurants and that’s it. I wish the city planners would divert more resources here because there is massive potential for growth and revitalization- It’s not far from 85/40 and many people are moving here. How about a minor league baseball team/stadium or an amphitheater (or both) to attract both residents and non-residents?

Not a whole lot to do but there is a lot to buy. Matinhos is a great place to eat as well as junction on seventy. The rest are small shops that you can buy cool trinkets from.

Quaint and colorful. The shop owners are some of the most passionate people I've ever met. Hard-working people who care about their community. Visit any time of the week, especially on Fridays and Saturdays and you will have a great time.

My family and I love the atmosphere here! They have something for everyone. It's mainly antique stores and bars, but the best pizza in Mebane is here and all store owners are friendly and welcoming. Everyone should experience one of the many festivals that occur here at least once.

Great shops, friendly people, always something to do! Reed's is my favorite coffee shop great coffee-date place, Martino's is the pace for American food, Pomodoros is great Italian, Karma is excellent for vegetarians/vegans, the downtown table perfect place for brunch or an amazing dinner and Dick & Jane's is an awesome spot for appetizers and cocktails! And night life is at Clay st tavern, cozy pub place that has fun bands, and whisky sowers if you're more in a party mood. So many shops for finding antique treasures, jewellery or quirky gifts. Quirks is the name of my favorite shop on Clay St. and they always have new and crazy stuff. You also have to see the amazing murals done by a local artist around Mebane. Recommend spot for friends or to explore by yourself any time.
