This is the absolute worst hospital! Nurses are lazy! Spend more time talking in the bull pin, then treating patents. They are very poorly organized! I wouldn't take my dog here. Wouldn't take anything I
care about to this hospital. Hospital was filthy!! Drive extra time, go to another hospital.

I’ve had several bad experiences with this hospital. I was even told that my gallbladder was fine. I didn’t have any stones. But guess what? I didn’t have a gallbladder. I actually had my gallbladder removed at that hospital two years earlier. I’ve watched them try to draw blood from a friend who was dead. They couldn’t get blood from him. The nurse didn’t know why. She went to get help. I looked at his family member and I said I’m pretty sure he has passed and he’s just not sleeping. Which he had💔You know I try to always drive to the hospital in emporia. But this time I was in too much pain. I thought I had severe heartburn that I can suffer from, but I started losing the strength in my left arm as I was driving to the hospital. They did an amazing job of taking me back for the first time ever!!! I was being treated in a timely manner, but I’m guessing now it’s because they didn’t know if I was having a heart attack or not. A young nurse came in and told me to get undressed. She put the leads on me for an EKG and the blood pressure cuff. I started sweating profusely. I was in my room for quite a while after the EKG. I took my cuff off my left arm because it was too much pressure. The nurse came in and I’m not kidding. I was standing up because I was scared and I didn’t know what was going on. The nurse had no compassion. She literally yelled at me to lay down. I had to keep the cuff on my arm that I was having a heart attack. OK that really should’ve been something the doctor told me instead of the nurse yelling at me. she put my cuff over my Iv. A few minutes later I noticed blood was coming out of the cuff. I pulled off the cuff and found blood. There was blood everywhere. I don’t know if it was pushed out by the cuff or it was tangled with the IV when I moved. But no matter. I never pulled it out on purpose. I personally believe she put it on too quickly and it pushed out the IV and wanted to blame it on me. That’s why she called Security on me. A nurse should never yell at a patient. “Sit down and listen to me. You are having a heart attack” , that needs to come from a doctor. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Anyway, from what I can remember, a lot of the nursing staff were great from that point on. Which I’m thankful for, because I had 100% blockage. They airlifted me to Greenville. So for once I can say, I was very thankful for the nursing staff I had when I became critical. Just keep in mind if you’re not critical it’s not the hospital to go to. Also hang onto your clothes that’s for sure . When I went to get dress five days later to go home. My clothes were missing,
I realized my shirt and bra did not make it on the helicopter. I’ve called the hospital. No one can find my clothes. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I had the other half of my clothes that the critical team took off, but I do not have the clothes, the first nurse who had attitude with me took off me. I would hope she didn’t throw them away. I believe the first nurse that treated me is sadly the example of the majority of the staff there. Giving credit where it’s due. If you are critical, it can be an amazing hospital! Somehow, I ended up with two halfway pictures of my helicopter ride, lol I was airlifted to another hospital. No one wants to get back with me about my clothes, might seem petty to some, but it’s not to me..

Had a procedure at ECU hospital in Roanoke Rapids today. Well, all went well. The doctors, nurses and support staff were on their A game. I’m sore with a 4” incision across my lower abdomen but the cyst is bye bye so no more torsion sending me screaming and reeling. Guess no fishing today as rest and medical induced sleep has prevailed. All in all, I am once again blessed. Kudos to our lil hospital who usually gets a bad rap because it and the medical team are “small town”. They were nothing short of spectacular and I am most appreciative! Doctor Wetherald and Doctor Ford rock!

On Thanksgiving Day 24, I cut my finger really bad. I couldn't stop the bleeding so I had to visit the ED. Dr. Meehan and the RN Kiara came in a treated me with much respect! We laughed during the visit, even though I received stitches:). They made me feel comfortable enough that I didn't even think about the Dr. stitching my finger. Dr. Meehan and RN Kiara are great and pleasant. If I ever have to visit again,I hope they are on duty.

HAD TO LEAVE A STAR TO LEAVE A REVIEW. WOULD GIVE THIS HOSPITAL A -1000 STARS IF I COULD. I went into the hospital with my mom who had an issue with her nose. She sat in the waiting area for 8 hours, gushing blood out of her nose just for them to end up transferring her to another faculty. They just don't care about their patients. They have no compassion or care for anyone that enters the hospital. They may be good people but they are not good at their jobs. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone. I go to emporia va hospital every time me or my son or family need emergency care. I will never return to this hospital.

Worst hospital and clinic ever. It doesn't matter whether you come by ambulance or not. You will still wait hours before you are seen. There are only one or two physician assistants that are capable of doing their job. One That I saw told me I needed to walk more, When I went in to see her about a major foot problem. It turned out that I needed foot surgery when I saw another doctor. If you have an emergency, do not go to Roanoke rapids hospital Or clinic. If it's something major they can't treat you anyway And we'll send you to another hospital.

I neverrrr leave reviews but this ER visit left me in tears! I had to call a family member just to stop crying! I came in due to body pain, stomach issues, inability to sleep and shortness of breath. I felt so bad I couldn’t get out of bed. HOWEVER, according to Rosemarie Casanova (the dr I saw) it was all in my head! Smh. I’ve had unexplainable body pain for years and no one seems to be able to help me. However, I came to this hospital because I was genuinely terrified of my shortness of breath. Rosemarie was so rude and demeaning that I CRIED. I NEVER cry in public. I got so upset, I had to get up and leave. I couldn’t even look at her face anymore. Worst visit I’ve ever experienced and it’s all because of one person. If you are not an empathic human being who genuinely cares about the health and wellbeing of others, you should not have a job in healthcare. I would give this place 0 stars is I could. THEY DO NOT CARE.
