This office is very disorganized, they don't seem to know what they are doing. I had the worst experience. I tried to get my mom's BP medicine and they declined her refill request . When she saw the doctor last she was told to call the office if she needs refills. After a week of me calling the office a list once a day and the pharmacy sending request, we still have no blood pressure medicine. This is considered neglect, when you know that your patient needs blood pressure medicine and you don't care to provide it. This is unacceptable. I never wrote a bad review for anything, but this time I had to.

Been trying to get my prescription refilled for well over a week, having to call almost everyday. They just keep sending a message to the doctor.
On one phone call, they made a comment about me not having had an appointment in awhile and that might be why it's taking awhile. I explained that I scheduled a follow up appointment in November and the soonest they had was March!
No one seems to care that I'm out of medication and no one is doing anything and my doctor, Dr. Henry, sure doesn't care.

Dr. Nichol-Joiner is a bit brief when discussing symptoms. Trying to get a Rx refilled is badly broken. They want you to use a "web portal". Requests made through the web portal are ignored for many days. Messages to Physician through the portal are also ignored. Calls from a phone get routed to a general Emory call center, who promises that that doctor or nurse on duty will call back - but the call never comes.

I've been going here for several years because of its location. The first doctor was good, but he's long gone. I've had it, and need to find a different clinic.

Nightmare at Emory at Buford. The wait time at this clinic is unacceptable. It is clear that the people who work here value their time more than their patients.

After waiting too long for the lab work that should accompany my physical, the computer system went down. Not a problem. This happens. But the way the staff handled it was unacceptable to me. They told me they were going to lunch. Without regard for my time and inconvenience, they told me I would have to come back that afternoon or tomorrow, but to call first; so I did. But that afternoon nobody picked up for 30 minutes, and the person who picked up was not on site. She left me on hold for 5-10 minutes while she tried to reach someone who was on site, but was never able to reach them. So I just showed up the next day. The nightmare continued.

I logged in for lab work and watched people who logged in after me get serviced before me. After 20 minutes of waiting, I asked the friendly customer service representative if I had been overlooked. She checked and told me the technician knew I was waiting. I could see the technician casually walking back and forth in the back.

Finally, she called me back. She never apologized for the wait, roughly drew my blood, tightly tied the bandage around my arm, and handed me a urine cup. It was clear to me that I had bothered her, which shall never happen again because after the rude service received and this review, I would not dare put my health care in the hands of Emory at Buford.

Do not ever call and speak with the nurse, she has been a nurse for 30 years, but doesn’t have a clue when you explain your symptoms to get an appointment. She suggested that I go to an urgent care due to my symptoms of having a UTI- negative. All the wonderful guesses and I’m still trying to see my doctor. She refused to make me an appointment, and keep suggesting Urgent Care. Finally got an appointment after waiting a week to call back. It’s unfortunate that I like my doctor, the long wait for appointments, hold time, once you get an appointment the wait to see the doctor is horrible. What’s the purpose of arriving early when they are not going to see you until 2 hrs later. Something has to give or I’ll just have to find a new office.

Overall my experience was good: the staff is friendly and my diagnoses were correct. There are two points that I did not enjoy. Firstly, it was that walk ins are definitely not an option as I walked in and was told that I would have to come back later as the doctors are about to go off to lunch. Both of them at the same time? Seems like there needs to be some better coverage there....
Secondly, they sent a prescription to my pharmacy for a drug that no longer exists. This has happened twice and I had to leave without my medicine as I was not going to wait over an hour just to figure out which medicine I would actually need.
They did give me a shot that was very helpful and made things better for me after I left, but I would really liked to have had my medicine.

It is going on two weeks trying to get them to refill a prescription. I even went to the office, only to be told it would not happen today. I have been on the same medication for more than 3 years, with the same doctor, what is the problem. Good thing I am not asking for heart medicine or I would be dead by now. Worst service ever....

Dr. Henry is awesome. But getting in to see her is painful.
-No walkins and often no same day appointments available (how is it a family physician if you can't see them when you're sick?)
-They take 2-5 days responding to online portal messages (other Emory facilities are very responsive)
-Can't call directly to office. You get put through Emory's switchboard.
-As a result, don't expect a response back on a clinical question earlier than 24-48 hours.
-There is no 'family doctor' feel. Emory is just too busy to develop rapport with their customers (patients).
