Este Inn es muy bueno. Las habitaciones son muy cómodas, tienen nevera, microondas y un tv pequeño. También cuenta con aire acondicionado. Los baños son grandes y bien equipados. Incluso hay calentador de paños!||El servicio es bastante bueno, aunque hay que tener claro que éste no es un hotel full service. Sirven un desayuno, todo hecho en casa, aunque puede resultar algo escaso. Es tipo bed and breakfast, sin menú. No hay almuerzo ni cena. En las tardes hay un happy hour con algo de bebidas y aperitivos.||Está muy bien situado en los Outer Banks.

This is THE place to stay. Elegant but not pretentious, First Colony Inn embodies an era of hospitality, leisure, and charm that's all but forgotten among the hotel chains and cookie-cutter vacation rentals of today. Fortunately, First Colony Inn is alive and well, serving as home base for an Outer Banks vacation the way it was meant to be enjoyed. The staff were all so kind and helpful, breakfast and the social hour were fantastic, and my room was comfortable and clean with a nice view of the ocean. The grounds have an air of peace and seclusion, but the beach is only steps away and there's plenty to do within walking distance or just a few minutes of driving.

Came in on St. Patty's weekend. No reservation, but what a gem this place was. Everyone was so kind. The lady at the front desk was spectacular. Can't wait to come back again. Have told anyone who wants to go to Nags Head needs to stay here. Thank you for a lovely stay.

What a great hotel, with a VERY interesting history! Situated just one block back from the beach, with direct beach access this is an intriguing hotel. The many rooms are named after the lost colonists, that simply disappeared back in the 1500's (I think). There is also a great story of how the hotel was moved to it's current location. Our room was on the 3rd floor. It was clean, comfortable and very quiet. Even though we had neighbors we never heard them. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and thee afternoon drinks and canapés a nice touch. There are a few restaurants within walking distance but for me the location for dining was so so. The Wright Brothers memorial was about 5 minutes drive, as was Jeanette's pier. Everything else is a bit of a hike. Not a deal breaker but, because we flew in and did not have a car a different location may have worked a little better. In saying that if the beach is what you want you will be happy as Larry! They do have bikes and beach chairs for use, which was a very nice touch. Overall this is a really nice property with beautiful surrounds.

Wonderful historic inn for those who desire unique experiences. My room on 3rd floor (no elevators) was good size with lovely framed prints of maps and wild life, comfortable bed, arm chairs and desk. The small library on the 2nd floor provides a quiet place to read and work. My only real critique, although it always seems a nice touch to have a coffee machine in one's room, they make the worst coffee.

This Inn is an Oasis amid the bustling busyness of the area. Situated between the beach road and the bypass highway roads, it is quite nestled in the trees. on this expansive acreage. There are whimsical gardens and artwork around the property. The breakfast fare and service are outstanding. |The Inn is showing its age since the lovely renovation in the early 1990s. My only complaint is my bed was lumpy. I will call ahead in the future to check which beds are new.

A unique and outstanding, experience for three nights in Nags Head! I had a larger room that provided both a sunrise and an ocean view. The spacious room had character and was tastefully appointed with a 4 poster bed, wet bar, refrigerator, Keurig machine, microwave, and comfortable furniture including a writing desk. The custom breakfast was absolutely outstanding that included a superb collection of pastries, fruit, and juices each morning. The breakfast staff, Beth and Sue, did an excellent job of serving us and making certain everything was in order. Afternoon wine social was relaxing with tasty extras. The dining room was undeniably enjoyable and also well appointed. The pool, garden, and grounds were well maintained and encompassed a myriad of special plantings and touches. A very short and easy three minute walk to the sandy beach. I will be back!
