Most of the nurses and patient care technicians are just wonderful. However most of the doctors treat you like a lesser human being and won't listen. There are a lot of things listed in the medical charts that I have never said. How is someone supposed to get correct medical treatment if concerns are not listened to and your own words are twisted into something I've never said?! Also two nurses got into a fight because they didn't know what to do, really!? Very unprofessional.

I went to ER near end of October. Was seen by DR. Jonathan Bradley in ER. ER dept and paramedic Misunderstood about if I missed any medications which was cleared up while I was in observation. Very friendly and quick to find why I was feeling icky. Thanks, Jonathan and excellent job bro! DR Chad D McGuire in observation dept. was very friendly and kind too as well as nurses. Keep up the good work. Only complaint I have is that annoying door to radiology next to my room which slams close very loudly which I would’ve heard without my hearing aids. Forgot the porter/transporter guy’s name but he was just funny and friendly. Thanks for your kindness and trying to keep my mind off my headaches and upset stomach while you took me to every radiology tests! You’d make a perfect friend!

My boyfriend was brought in an ambulance at around 7am the other day, Sunday, he came in for a head injury, needed stitches and a CT scan. He was treated very poorly because he wasn't picked up right away, the hospital staff was telling him he had to leave hé cant stay there, mind you he came in an ambulance intoxicated hit his head hard enough to receive 7 stitches above his eyebrow, had no clothes besides boxers and a shirt, no shoes no coat and the nurse repeatedly said he had to leave, she even went as far to call family members saying she going to do a wellness check on them because he wasnt being picked up fast enough. This is not even fair rated care, very sad especially considering how much they charge.

Very, very abusive towards their patients in the mental health unit, especially the women. There was not one kind staff member there while visiting my family member. It was like the 1960’s. I would be so ashamed to receive my nursing license or doctorate and call myself either if I worked here. They do not deserve the title. To those who have attempted to seek treatment here, I am so sorry for what you have had to endure. Just know that these people are absolute scum and will have to live the rest of their lives knowing that they helped benefit an institution of abuse, and you are so much better.

One day of service amounting over $26,000? NO SURGERY! Over billing is only going to lead to the ppl of the United States to demand gov health care. I wasn't one of those ppl but now I am. 1st day of my life in a hospital, insurance all my life and then stuck with $6,000 out of my pocket? You can title your itemized list any fancy way you want but it amounts to one thing....one day of hospitalization...period. example: 1st hour care-1,300.00, 1st hour critical care -2,500.00, 1 day observation 22,000.00, owe and the best one is discharge day - 478.00. Never seen or talked to a doctor one time during my visit. Bet he got a big fat check. Lets not forget the pathologist bill, pathology bill, Radiology bill, Radiologist Bill. Partial pnemonia is now intensive care cost? Never will I go to the nearest hospital especially St Fransican Hospital I'm Michigan City, IN again. An ambulance driver will not tell me again I need to take an ambulance. I will suffer at great lengths and even die before I use either of these resources. I'm not paying for ppl whom dont carry ins anymore. You are penalizing ppl who do have coverage. No wonder you aren't in my network. Over charging! You're supposed to be non profit. This does not reflect non profit billing.

Reason for visit. I suffered loss of breath at home, ambulance emt thought it was A fib which it wasnt, yes I did feel better after visit. I am prepared now, I have oxygen bottle, all meds that hospital administered so truly, I hope hospitals suffer huge losses in the future. They are greedy and scam us.

The New Michigan City Franciscan Hospital staff including but not limited to Erin R Burchett is incompetent, The staff is slow, and unfortunately rude. On top of that, they’re completely negligent, I was recommended by paramedics twice to be taken to the ER for simply having sleep apnea and arrhythmias. When I finally decided to go for PHSYICAL symptoms, the “doctor” writes I’m there for fatigue and altered mental status. Completely not accurate whatsoever,
Diagnosis and Treatment for said diagnosis was very poor. Absolutely ridiculous. I’d like information on how to file a medical grievance. Notice how there’s no way to review this place on Apple Maps or file a grievance on the website.

The actual service at the hospital was fine. Billing is the problem. I am a permanently and totally disabled combat veteran. I was sent to Franciscan, by the VA, to get some tests under the “community care” program. Franciscan split the billing on two dates even though I received testing on one day. The VA denied the second day. This is simply a clerical billing issue. I spoke with Franciscan multiple times and they said that they would get the situation fixed and put notes in my billing file. Today I received a notice from a collection company about the debt. Scumbags stealing from veterans. Do not use this facility if you are a VA patient.

Franciscan hospital took excellent care of all my critical care needs. I had open heart surgery on November 4th. Dr. March and his staff are wonderful. They listen to all your concerns. The RNs that looked after me were all excellent in their field. I went home on the 8th. and I'm doing fine. Thank you all I'm blessed. Joan
