Very concerned. I took a rifle in for repair over two years ago. Without hearing back after about 6 months I checked in. The guy filling in for the owner said he was still working on it . After about a year, without hearing back I’ve made many attempts to contact via phone calls and stopping by. There have been no returned calls from VM’s left nor has anyone been at the shop when I’ve stopped by, during business hours.
At this point I’m just hoping the get my gun back. Mark K.

I brought my gun in to be serviced and never heard back from them. I've called weekly and left messages with no reply. I just want my gun back now but if no one is ever there or able to answer the phone I don't know what to do. I heard the owner got sick and I don't know if anyone is running the shop anymore. It seems like no one is answering the phone or returning voice mails these days.

Went in to buy a handgun, the guy behind the counter couldn’t turn us away fast enough. They only had some rusty old surplus rifles, a bucket of bayonets, and a haphazard selection of ammo that looked like it had been sitting on the shelf since the 90’s

I have been in Kurt's shop & agree with these high star rating comments. He is a good man and a stand-up business owner with a lot to share through experienced based knowledge. Don't hesitate if you are thinking on going in to his business. It will be worth your time.

Kurt is a 10! He spent over an hour with me inspecting three guns that I didn't know much about and giving me advice to care for them. He is extremely knowledgeable, like a human encyclopedia for guns. He runs a great small town business. He also builds amazing hunting rifles. Tons of used rifles and shotguns in stock. If there is something you want that he doesn't have he will help you with the process to order it. Even if you don't live in the Forest Grove area he is well worth the drive.

A good old fashioned gun shop that you don't find around much anymore. The owner is not only knowledgeable about guns but is a skilled gunsmith as well. Good for conversation, and he follows the rules to a T when it comes to background checks and purchases. To me that shows honesty, integrity and that he cares about safety.

You may get something a little cheaper at a big box place, but I prefer to go here where I trust the person selling it, and he backs his work.

Bad service, I went to do my background check for purchasing a rifle. I chose H & K Gun Shop, thinking we should support local businesses. Last time, im going there. The older gentleman who was helping snapped at me for having wasted a piece of paper for my fingers prints just for not doing it correctly, apparently. Boy!! he was furious at me. I'm very much offended by his attitude to me. I hate to say it. But I believe it was my dark skin for being Hispanic.

Kurt and his late father Harold (the H in H & K) are the very exemplars of an excellent gun shop. Kurt is straight shooter who gives a beautiful product at a fair price. And if you just want to talk and he has the time, you will always leave with more knowledge of guns and life than when you went in!
