I have been Sick for several weeks. Was at Urgent Care Twice over it. Friday at an Urgent Care the Dr was So dismissive. and refused to Change my meds. I got so sick over the weekend that this Morning I come here. The Security Guard was Fantastic, The Check in clerk again great and Triage Ms. RN Erica Fantastic as always and that didn't stop. The Dr. Dr. Salter was amazing and very thorough. And The Same with all the Nurses. Because of Dr. Salter I think I can Finally say I'm on the mend Up. Halifax Needs to do whatever they can to keep her. And of course RN Erica. I hope my review gets shared with everyone that was involved in my care today. You guys are rock stars

I have been admitted to Halifax PO twice. Both times, I have been impressed by the staff and how seriously the doctors are concerning proper care of their patients. I really appreciate all of the doctors and nurses for doing what they do to take care of us and keep us going. A big thank you to the ladies in Med Surg as well. Y'all were awesome.

I presented to the ER with concerns of a mass in my eye. I walked through security/metal detector and was immediately advised to complete the check in process which was also the person who completed registration in the middle of the visit. I was advised to have a seat in the waiting area and was sitting next to an older gentleman who was struggling to breathe, with a family member who was very concerned for him. The family member was begging for assistance and expressed frustration for why he was not being placed in a room. I watched this man struggle to breathe for 45+ mins until finally he was taken to the back.

Upon being brought to the back for triage, the blood pressure cuff did not work and took 5 minutes to figure out why it wasn’t working (it was the wrong sleeve size). I advised the RN of my concerns and in the middle of conversing with her, another nurse comes back to complete the triage. It was evident at this point, that the place had no order and was operating in complete chaos. I was brought back to a quick care room and was greeted by a PA within a few minutes. The presenting PA touched the mass in my eye and advised that it was “probably a blocked tear duct or something”. Mind you, basic eye anatomy would tell you that the lump is above the lacrimal sac and the tear duct. The PA looked utterly out of her element and completely overwhelmed. She had no interest in my pressing issue and after advising it was most likely a blocked tear duct, she advised that I was already seen by Halifax a few months ago and asked if I had labs she could view as requesting them from AdventHealth would “take way to long”. The PA leaves after reviewing my lab work and doesn’t return at all. I did not get to speak with the attending physician—nothing. I was greeted by registration, while sobbing out of fear, and then immediately given discharge paperwork. I was shocked that I was being discharged, without consulting with anyone. I was trying to figure out the reasoning behind my discharge with the RN who conducted my triage. While speaking, other RN’s are coming in asking her questions completely cutting me off. This happened at the minimum 3x and by the time the RN brought herself back to our conversation, she forgot what she was saying. A complete waste of time, unprofessional staff, the ceiling has literal dust pouring out it, and all of the staff lack bedside manner and compassion. Very disheartened by my experience at this facility.

0 Stars!!! The ladies upfront and the security officer were so nice and apologetic... I'll never in my life come to this hospital again. The last time I was here I was treated so good& this time the short haired (lesbian) girl that took my vitals made me feel like I wasn't important enough to be here because they were so busy. I've had heart problems and endocarditis before & having severe chest pains and feel very unwell. And peeing BLOOD!!!! Do you seriously think any of us want to be at the hospital I HATE hospital I didnt want to be here as much as they didn't want me here!!! I'll NEVER BE BACK! Yall should DEFINITELY RETRAIN THAT LADY! Very RUDE! I've never felt so humiliated before in my life I walked out crying and I'm worried about my health I've been sick since June I've lost over 70 pounds! I cant believe this place. I'm disgusted honestly.

i have had horrible experiences here since i was a child. several times i have watched them fail to help my family members. my most recent experience was absolutely stupid when i had nurses and doctors asking me why i had a bag of ice for my head when im there for passing out and hitting my head.... ? another time my mom almost died here because several people could not put her cvc (iv in her chest) in and she was SEPTIC.. they had to send her to a different hospital bc the staff was not capable. when i was little my grandfather was given something he was allergic when it was IN HIS CHARTS AND STATED BY FAMILY. there are so many things i could go on and on about but the fact is this hospital isn't the best and the picture shows that. if you can make it to another hospital i would definitely recommend it.

This ER is extremely judgey. As someone from out of state seeing how they have helped people I know on separate incidents has been concerning. Instead of looking to help people they first treat u as if ur some sort of criminal. People shouldn’t have to feel that they aren’t going to correct medical care because of other issues they may suffer from in their life. This crew really needs to do better. And this is a review since about march of 2020.

Worst emergency room ever! I sat in waiting area until everyone was gone and then I asked you know what was up and they said we called you three times. They never called me. I was sitting right there and then instead of taking me in they all just sat there and stared at me and kind of laughed. The nurses station was just sitting there, chuckling with each other, the most unprofessional place I’ve ever seen, and then they kept me sitting there even the security was kind of questioning what the heck was going on! I’ve been to many hospitals because I have a fatal heart condition and this is the worst most unprofessional staff that I’ve seen

So Halifax I see always has a bad rep! I have been there twice now. Once for myself when I was super sick with Covid. I nearly died from it and they were so caring. I wish I remembered the nurses names but its been over a year now. Now tonight I had to take my son in for a bike injury that we though his arm was broken. With no others able to do the X Rays at the time we went to the ER here. First, Nicole did the intake and while I did that Jessica tended to my son. Normally my wife does all that paper work and check in stuff with things like this and Nicole made it easy for me lol. Jessica and Nicole were absolutely amazing with my son. They took him back quickly and tried to make sure he was as comfortable as he could be. Got his X Rays done and thankfully not a break! Again both Jessica and Nicole came in and wrapped him up in a brace and told me all we needed to do. Thank you both of you for making our experience a good one (well as good as can be in the situation).
