Horrible doctor. Would not recommend him, not professional, nor his staff. Had to reschedule my procedures due to medical issues and work hours. They told me they could no longer treat me going forward. Really!? The staff never told me you could only reschedule so many times. I’ve never heard of such a thing in the medical field. They never even considered my medical and work issues. If a doctor provides service like this, probably good that I am not being treated by him. Also, if you leave a message to reschedule they don’t call you back you have to keep calling them back. They say they will call back within 48 hours, not true at all. Digestive Diseases office is not like it used to be, staff not friendly. I got Shepard(not by choice) after my previous doctor retired not impressed with him and I have been a patient there for years, This doctor is not loyal to his patients. Do not recommend this doctor or office.

The office is kind, understanding and have great customer service. Dr. Shephard is an awesome doctor, listens to you, gets things done the right way. I have been seeing him and the office for over 10 years. I would recommend the office to anyone.

I am a bit disappointed in this practice. I had my first appointment recently and some of the staff seemed concerned with upsetting the doctor and advised the medical assistant that if she made a mistake he would get really mad...even if that is so...why say that in front of a patient. The nurse seemed impatient with the intern (at least I think it was an intern), very tense. Also I need to schedule for a procedure and the scheduling coordinator told me to call with any questions. (they needed to wait for clearance from another doctor. My other doctor notified me the clearance was sent.) I called the scheduling coordinator and have left several messages and she has not returned my calls. I am not sure this is the place I want to be if the staff can't be more professional.

I had never experienced such a bad attitude from a so called Doctor! This person, shouldn't be taking care of people's health, he is nasty, rude and nagging I went to him, cause I needed to have my medicine replaced cause my insurance does not covered it, he told me "so what are you doing here? Go to the pharmacy and ask what is the alternative to that medicine, I have no idea what is covered by you insurance" I called my insurance and they gave me a few options, I called this so called Doctor's assistant to give them the names so they can call the pharmacy and NO BODY EVER CALLED ME BACK or called my pharmacy to approved any medicine. People like this shouldn't take care of any body! I went to Dr. MAYORAL and I have my medicine and my treatment.

My 90-year-old father is the patient. We have been seen promptly at every visit (no more than 2-3 minutes in the waiting room and no more than 5 minutes waiting for doc once in the exam room). Dr. Shephard took the time to clearly explain test results, evaluate options, and consider my father's entire health situation before recommending treatment.

Beyond exasperating. In effect I tried booking an appointment today with one of their office assistants. Office assistant is a bit misleading if not as in this case an outright misnomer . My insurance does not require a referral although I had one. All pertinent information was conveyed including insurance, primary physician, with names and phone numbers along with the reason for my trying to book the appointment. Because the assistant was not able to confirm my primary physician's office number even after having given it to her several times; she canceled my already set appointment and said I would have to contact them at another time & make another appointment I'd be surprised if this person is being paid more than the minimum wage but nevertheless here we are as their "patients" having to contend with this type of poor service. Such is the state of our health care these days. If their office wants to make it difficult for me give them my business that's, fine. There are always other options. I booked with another physician whose office assistant was much inclined to help me that very same afternoon. .
