Visited Hickory Hill last week. Could not have asked for a better experience. The house and grounds are very well kept even though they were cleaning up from the recent hurricane. Ms. Frankie, resident scholar and guide knows her subject a makes the visit a delight. Good idea to call before visiting. If the house seems closed be sure to check the office, which is in the back. Watson was a shaker and mover in Georgia politics in his day, and to know Georgia history you need to know Tom Watson.

It was small however very well put together and very interesting. The tour was about 35 minutes. With just my sister and I it was great to be able to ask questions. The grounds were very welcome an interesting to walk around. All in all I enjoyed my time there very much.

I’m a professional photographer, this is a beautiful place to take pictures and I have even had my own family pictures taken here. The first time I was told it was completely okay to shoot at this place as long as it was during the week while they were open, but my clients and I were talked to very rudely during the photoshoot. Although the first time Was not the best visit, I went again for another photoshoot and this time I was spoken to as if I was nothing. I have never been so disrespected in my entire life. I read through the reviews and it seems as if this a common issue with this establishment. I will not refer anymore of my clients to Hickory Hill nor will any of the photographers that I know will either. People should be treated with respect and the woman I have encountered twice has the worse customer service skills . I really hope this issue is corrected bc although it’s a beautiful place her attitude makes it so very ugly.
