Lived here all my life and never knew how great a museum this place is. The museum in itself is first class, but the guided train tour steals the show! Our tour guide (as well as the fellow patron on our trip chiming in) gave all kinds of information and stories about the rail service in the area. The museum was well kept and the staff was very helpful. The gift shop was well stocked with railroad, BG, and KY merchandise. Our guide told us they were restoring three more railcars, so I'll be back!

Wow! Such a feeling! Wonderful little Big place. The train tour, the museum in two levels about not only railroad history as well connected to historical events, the Show model railroad set up… super service and informative staff!

This is a great little railroad museum with a nicely restored passenger train that you can tour along with a bay window caboose. The museum has a large HO scale operation toy train layout, but the best part is the history of the black train workers. It's certainly worth the time to visit!

It's a great place to learn history of the L&N railroad. You can go out and get on the train and go back in time, the way things were in a simpler day. Beautifully decorated for the Christmas season

This was great! The museum had lots of high quality exhibits and the information and data was portrayed expertly and in no expense on stands and walls. Was very well organized and the cost was fantastic!

We also did the train tour and that was great, our guide provided LOTS of information and let us take ample time in the train cars, which were well kept and restored. They're currently restoring 2 more train cars which will be awesome to go back and see later!

We decided to visit here when we were visiting kentucky down under. My son loves trains. They have model trains set up you can watch them go around. You get to tour some old remodeled train and the museum is very informative.

Had a very nice, knowledgeable guide for the tour. The locomotive, mail car, president car, Army medical car and caboose are great. The second floor of the museum has many exhibits with lots to see! The gift shop has a good selection of souvenirs, including 2 books about the dog, Owner, who traveled with mail delivery people all over the world!! Highly recommend checking out this museum!
