Amazing place and very friendly staff. We didnt realize this was an online storefront and drove to San Jose during xmas season to get an outfit for the Dickens fair. Despite us not having the appointment, a friendly lady (I feel terrible for not being able to recall her name), one of the staff members let us in and helped me pick out a few wonderful pieces for my costume, despite the unusually busy season. Truly above and beyond.The outfit turned out great. I love that they have clothes that are fitted well for men of tall stature. (Turns out the founder / owner is 6,5”, so their pants come hemmed at a 36” inseam, which was perfect for me. If the wonderful lady that helped us sees this review I would. be happy to edit and include your name. We stopped by on December 6th, 2024.

I have been buying Historical Emporium's canvas trousers for some years, first for reenacting, now I wear them all the time. They are the best work pants money can buy, well put together and the pockets are made from the same tough material as the pants. Recently I wanted something dressier in the same cut so I bought a pair of the grey tweed trousers. Once I had them on I sat down and ordered the rest of the Burford tweed suit at once.
This is a high quality outfit put together like a bespoke suit. Ladies and gentlemen, Historical Emporium does not sell costumes. They sell real, first rate clothing, a good investment for both the reenactor and the person who wants to introduce the style into daily life.

My experience with Historical Emporium was quite great. The shipping was incredibly fast despite being during holiday season. The skirt I ordered is pure cotton and is beautiful. It looks amazing and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Okay, so I bought victorian ruffle bloomers from this so-called shop. I got alot of the money as a christmas present so that I could get them. I was so excited to get them. I can't say that I'm happy anymore. I was at first, but before half a year was over, there were holes in my bloomers. And I always washed them gently like I do with my other bloomers. These have cost me alot more than any other bloomers I've bought. And I had to pay alot just to get the package from the post office when it finally arrived, due to me living in another country. The amount was over tousand kr. in my valuta. And yet they are the first to go. The other ones I have, have great quality, despite having a nice, affordable price. These, however, do NOT stand up to my expectations or any standards. I didn't use them much either, and when I did, I was careful with them. I complained to the shop, and they tried everything to not give me my money back. I got a few coins eventually today, but that was very far from half of the amount I have paid for it. Do NOT buy from this shop, it's a total scam, they will only rip you off. You will only get bad quality for an unreasonable price. I have photos to prove it. 😠

Everything fit perfectly! Pants come unaltered, obviously. Great for period correct costumes, etc. We’re doing a Bridgerton dance!
