Estuve en dos ocasiones en el Intrepid Museum, si eres un amante de la aviación como soy yo, te encantará.

Te recomiendo el tour del Concorde (es un ticket aparte que tienes que reservar). En una ocasión fui con el CityPASS y no conseguí pase para el Concorde, la segunda vez compré la entrada del museo y el tour aparte del avión supersónico con bastante antelación.

Recomiendo pasar una mañana entera en el museo, ya que tiene bastantes cosas que ver y puedes disfrutar mejor de las vistas al pier.

Tanto la parte de museo, como los exteriores del portaviones, como el propio barco, son muy interesantes. La tienda tiene mucho merchandising y aunque no quieras comprar nada (los precios son prohibitivos) merece la pena la visita antes de salir del museo.

Hicimos nuestra reservacion para una visita guiada. Llegamos más temprano de lo previsto y mientras, caminamos por la plataforma interna del barco. Ya con nuestra guía, nos fuimos paseando por los distintos puntos y zonas de tods la nave, con cifras y fechas que resulta increible como toda tecnología estaba disponible hace 80 años, cuando se construyó el barco. Muy instructivo y educativo. Definitivamente recomendado.

I’m giving less stars even though I really wanna give it five because there’s so much information here and so much details and just so much history and I love some of the concepts that they have but some things bothered me. First, I’ll start with that I love that you get to see the inside of this ship and they put these recordings like in the kitchen and where they would sleep and you could hear the sounds of people snoring or people washing dishes and it just made it seem so real and you would get like a better picture of what you’re looking at. It’s incredible how many people were in the ship working and living the way that they lived in such tight areas but they made it work. This is definitely a place you have to visit more than once to really absorb in everything that they have. I didn’t go to the submarine because I didn’t have time and the line was more than one hour and I was already exhausted from walking around for 4 to 5 hours. I really enjoyed the 3-D movie screening. The effects are not that strong that you really feel you are flying but it’s enough to get the idea. Interesting story too! I went to the cafeteria and I heard that it’s really really good but I didn’t see anything that I liked!! Also it’s quite expensive. Love seeing the Concorde! Lastly, and the thing I’m most upset about is that I went on the flight stimulator. You have to pay for it and before you go on, you have to take this little course where you kind of learn how to use the handles, but I couldn’t understand it at all. I don’t play video games so to me it was completely new and when I told the girl, I don’t understand what I did she goes. It’s OK just keep your hand on this button and this button and when I went inside, I was by myself and I could not stand when the stimulator was going upside down and the belt wasn’t even tight. It was a horrible experience. Since I didn’t know how to control it I kept turning myself around and around and around. I should’ve spoke to management that day because that is ridiculous.
3 stars because of that situation.

Para os amantes de aviões, como meu filho, é um excelente programa. Para quem não curte o tema pode não ser tão interessante.
