An amazing place to see the step by step evolution of washing machines. Mr. Maxwell has a huge collection of models from around the globe and several of them are functional. It is impressive to see the engineering behind some of the strange machines that have been brought to market in the past. It is also interesting to see Lee's wooden models of washing machines. He has been interpreting patents from the 1800's and creating miniature representations of these machines. A detailed work that has been greatly accomplished.

Think of the best word you know... great, fantastic, amazing, awesome. They all describe this place. Extremely well displayed, including all the little details having to do with washing machines. Lee Maxwell made it interesting and fun to visit his museum. He was so knowledgeable. The museum just kept going and going. Just when you think there couldn't be any more, there is another building. We were fortunate to meet his wife, Barbara, also. Very sweet couple. We hope to take our family with us next time. Highly reccomend making the trip and taking the time to see this unique museum.

I have never seen a more impressive collection. Is amazing to see something so basic and ordinary in such a detailed complete way. There is a dedication to context, from his impressive knowledge of patents and machinery, to the physical staging of the museum. To say nothing of the collection of laundry related paraphernalia that would put any cracker barrel to shame. It's an amazing day trip, I've actually gone a few times and it's just as interesting and fun the second and third time as it is the first. He has also written a book, Saving Women's Lives, it's a perfect tribute to how good a story teller Lee Maxwell is, and a legitimately good read. It's a window into the past that manages to give a surprisingly clear and complete view into history, that goes for both the book and the museum. Thank you Lee!
