Visited today with my daughter and her two children. This was one of the best tours I have ever had anywhere. The tour guide, Beth, shared information in an engaging and personable way and managed to keep the attention of both children. My grandson, who is 8, said he wished he could give the tour more than a 5 star! That’s quite a feat in this age of electronics. I highly recommend this museum to anyone wanting to better understand the history of the region and the people who worked to build this county.

We stopped in and lucked out to be just in time for a tour with a guide named John. He was a treasure. So much information and amazing collections from furniture to pottery and art, and so many stories! We want to go back and see more, it's definitely worth it!

Me and my mom went to this wonderful place on election day since I was off from school and wow. One cheap tickets $5 for adults and like $1-$2 for kids. But it was just me and my mom in a group and it felt more personal that way but still treated us like a big group in a sense where small and big details were covered. It's just a really awesome place to visit and if you don't want to do a tour you can still walk the site and look at the buildings from the outside but I recommend the tour as the interiors of these buildings are really cool and interesting!!! The antebellum era house has a beautiful interior!!! The history of the area is really cool and honestly wouldn't have learned that in school. Get out there and enjoy it!!! Bring the family and have a picnic, walk the gardens. Great place for a stroll!!!

We had the absolute best time on our tour with Beth today! She was incredibly knowledgeable about all things Lexington & SC. I cannot believe how much I learned! Loved touring the Schoolhouse, the Fox house & was fascinated by the outdoor cooking areas, smokehouse, pigeon house and even the 3-person privy! Ha. Our kids got a kick out of that. For reference, we had two adults (one out of town relative) along with two children and we all had a great time. We can’t wait to go back!

They only take cash so plan ahead. The tour guide who was there on 11/23 was fantastic (unfortunately I can’t remember his name). Great price, and he also was trying to keep the children in our party engaged as well!
