Such a fun experience. The tour is self guided with several signs to read along the paths to help give you a better understanding of everything. The gift shop is super cute and has so many things. The staff was very pleasant.

Great experience of the Laura Ingolls Wilder homestead. It's neat to see where Pa dug a 20' well, built a log cabin, and so much more. Modern restrooms. Great gift shop with excellent souvenirs. Almost all of the books are there for sale.

This has been on my bucket list as I want to see all of the sites associated with Laura Ingalls Wilder. Though this museum doesn't have the huge amount of artifacts associated with the family that her home in Mansfield, MO does, it was still so great to be there on the land where the Ingalls family lived. The landscape surprised me also. This part of KS is more hilly than I realized. I loved imagining what life was like for the Ingalls family while there. One of the best features is the well that Charles Ingalls dug since the original cabin is gone.

We had a lovely visit to the homestead museum. We always enjoyed watching Little House on the Prairie. To see the homesite in person was awesome. If you’re a fan, check it out.

You know, it's just cool. Amazing that this is the actual site of their prairie house, and the well that Pa and Mr. Edward's dug is still there. In the little giftshop/museum there is a picture of Mr. Edward's and some information about him. Loved putting a face to a name. We enjoyed the extra buildings they have as well, as they give you a good example of what life was like in that place and time.
