I would travel to the end of the earth to make sure Janine and her nurse Lisa were my children’s providers. I have extreme medical distrust, yet I trust them fully. Janine takes the absolute best care of my two boys - while taking the best care of this difficult mama too. We love her dearly!

BEWARE....this place does not care for the well being of children.

We started taking our newborn son here last April. At the time we really liked it. But one day the doctor suddenly quit with no explanation. And since then it has been terrible.

We have had to wait 2-3 hours to be seen for scheduled well visit. I've called the 24 hour nurse line and was told a doctor would call me and never got a call. And just today we had an appointment for a sick visit, only to be called right before the appointment for it to be canceled. And was told no one else could see children.

This place seems to be very unorganized and appears to have no accountability to keep staff and doctors in check. Go somewhere's else where you have people who care about your kid!!!

Absolutely love this office. Reception is always extremely polite and goes above and beyond to work with you. The nurses who do shots and vitals are always great with my kids and go to the max to make it a great experience. My 3 sons see Jennifer Maupin there and she is the absolute best! The only way I'd ever switch offices is if we moved away or she moved away. She always puts the children's health first no matter what so some people may not like what they hear at times but it's 100% going to be the best call for your child's well-being. I've never ever had a problem with her guidance or directions. She truly cares about the kids, which is a rare trait to find these days. My kids are 5, 3, and 1 and they actually love going to the doctor because their team at Madison Family does such a great job! They are just absolutely wonderful, we love all of them!

I moved to Richmond in 2018 and spent forever trying to find a new clinic. I finally stumbled upon Kim Sowden at Madison Family Clinic and I am so glad I did. Kim has taken absolutely wonderful care of me for almost 5 years now. She and the entire staff there are incredible. I never wait long and Kim always takes time to listen to everything I need to talk about. I highly recommend this place.

Jennifer is a great provider. I've never had any issues with her level of care. She's always responded well to our needs. Thats the only good thing I have to say about MFC. The rest of it?

Disappointing. We've brought our kids here for years but the level of service has continued to decrease. Poorly ran. They try to cram as many patients onto the schedule as possible, regardless of whether or not its doable.

Getting through to the receptionists via phone is pure luck. If they answer, they'll likely put you on hold and let you sit there until it automatically sends you to a voicemail, which is never responded to. I just called twice, the phone was "picked up" for approximately 15 seconds before I was hung up on.

There is no point in being on time for your appointment. They're routinely 30 minutes behind. Once they bring you back, its easily another 15-30 minutes before the provider gets back to see you.

Once they see you, its about a 50/50 chance of getting your prescription sent correctly. You're better off hand delivering anything they should be handling for you. Prescriptions, WIC forms, referrals, any of it. The less you let them do, the better things will be.

I just called and was told couldn’t schedule until had information available.
I was actually in the process of looking through my email to get it from my employer and I didn’t want to hold her up on the phone.

I almost found it immediately after she hung up. so I called back two rings and was sent to the automated voicemail. I thought maybe a mistake then I called back again and it was like somebody pick the phone up and put it on silent and then eventually hung up.
Well, that was very unprofessional.

Thank you though I was just needed some medical assistance.

I just started going to this office and so far out of my two visits I've not been impressed with the ladies at the reception area one bit. On my first visit I wasn't given any paperwork, after 20 mins of waiting I advised that I had been waiting as the note hanging up says to do and I asked if I needed to file any paperwork and I offered my insurance card and licenses. Once I finished filling out the paperwork I had to wait to hand it in. When the lady took it I asked how much longer it would be because at this point it was getting close to an hr. She very snarky said "You just turned your paper work in! I advised that it was her fault or just got turned in and I had to wait longer. My 2nd visit I was waiting to sign in as the paperwork wasn't out. The one lady was on the phone and 2 others was just chatting away like I wasn't even there. I had to approach them to get the sign in paper. If it wasn't for being so impressed by Dr. Kim I would look for a different place and I still may end up doing it if this is going to be an issue every visit. Kim is a 5 star and the front office is 0 stars.

Me and my daughter both were going here. There nice people to a point but I feel out of place everytime we are there. An time we need medicine refills it takes forever to get them called in, and my daughter was in the hands program and her worker couldn't even get her shots records. Poor service I wouldn't recommend this place. Me and my daughter will not be going back I found us a different doctors office hopefully they are better.
