If you really want to know about the Civil War, this is a place to visit. The staff are all volunteers and are very polite, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing that knowledge. Another reviewer mentioned that they were rude and blocked the viewing of displays, but if you ask, they will move and will include you in the conversation. Five stars is not enough.

Went there while on vacation in town to get a better understanding of the Confederate view of the American Civil War, as I am a history buff myself. The gentleman running the museum were very nice, and answered all the questions that I had. There is all kinds of different weapons that were used in the civil war here, as well as the original secession document that was signed in South Carolina. If you happen to be a lover of history, I suggest that you visit here if you're ever in Greenville. I went away having learned some very interesting facts that I had not previously know.

We've been in Greenville for years, and we pass by this museum every Sunday on our way to church. I've always wanted to visit, but just kept forgetting. Well, today we went! I honestly wasn't expecting there to be much in this very unassuming house setting. Boy was I wrong! So much history and a plethora of historical artifacts in every nook and corner.

There was one worker there, who was very kind. He allowed us to walk around freely, but was also available for questions. He offered info here and there on particular artifacts, and seemed knowledgeable. Not once did he push a singular agenda.

It was amazing to see so many original pistols, rifles, knives, sabers, etc. Along with day-to-day living artifacts from the Civil War era. The number of uniforms and garments that are in such excellent condition is amazing!

There's a huge collection of confederate money and flags to peruse.

The highlight for my boys had to be holding an original musket!

I would definitely visit again. Oh, it's also FREE!

Me and my family visited on 5/14/22 and the Gentlemen who care for the museum were very nice, helpful & informative. The museum is filled with a bunch of artifacts and tons of history to be learned. It is also free so I would recommend giving a donation or shopping in the gift shop because in this day and age there isn't much that is free anymore. I would also suggest that if you are not pro Confederate, don't come visit just to start up a dispute about history just so you can give them a bad review, that makes you look bad instead.

Amazing place... so much to see and learn. We were given such detailed personal time with the staff (Rossie, or also known as "coach"). The hour just flew by, and there is still so much to see and learn. A must for all history buffs..!! We will be back this month again.!!

This is one of the best museums I have been to, the men are friendly the gift shop is amazing and they have John Hunt Morgan's Sword there!
