Our visit to the Museum of Indigenous People in Prescott was informative and enjoyable! We went on a Saturday morning, and the two docents had so much knowledge to share and so much respect for the people this museum represents. I'm grateful Prescott is preserving this incredibly important and rapidly disappearing history. Stop in to see gorgeous, handmade artifacts; imagine the ways humans lived life many many years ago; and come ready to learn about the people who were here long before we were.

This museum was very nice and quite informative. I learned several things during my visit. The tour is self guided as the museum is fairly small. I like the combination of the old and new indigenous items. The staff was very nice. I also like the self guided tour book I was given. It explained a lot about each exhibit. My favorite part was the outdoor garden with plants that were and are used by Indigenous peoples as medicines, dyes and making everyday items. I’ll definitely be back to visit.

We really enjoyed our time at the museum of indigenous people. Tones of amazing original art and artifacts. The building is really beautiful and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely be going back on our next visit.

Awesome experience! So much to learn, and a humbling experience first hand of the beautiful spirit of Yavapai nation, in a serene environment. Ms. Andrews and staff are very kind and knowledgeable, well able to keep the kids interested (even teenagers!!!). Indian tea, which is available for tasting, was a real treat! It's absolutely a hidden treasure of the former Arizona territory capital. And if you can support them it will be a money well spent.

This museum is truly underrated. From the interesting historical architecture of the building to the creative rotating exhibits, there is always something engaging and interesting. For those that like learning about the unique culture of Indigenous People and appreciate the subtleties of smaller, carefully- curated exhibits, this is a great place to spend an afternoon. They also have amazing jewelry and other items for sale at extremely reasonable rates.

We were going to visit a museum on Monday, July 25, 2022. My husband wanted to visit this museum and I would have picked a different one, but after a visit to the Chamber, we learned this was the only one open on that Monday. I'm so glad it was OPEN. I had my eyes opened in a big way to what horrors were done to the Indian people! Much worse than I'd ever realized. I have such an appreciation for who have lived in this land for centuries; they are brilliant, resourceful, brave, and really got the shaft. This museum is a must see. The preservation of artifacts, the information, the history, maps, etc. is so important. We could have spent way more time, but it was closing maybe 90 minutes after we arrived.
