What an honor it is for the people of Chattanooga to have this in our back yard. So many special people, special memories, and stories for days of the heroes that help create and protect this great nation. You can honor this place by buying future bricks that will be laid on this sidewalk forever.

If you're visiting Chattanooga, a trip to the National Medal of Honor Heritage Center is a must. Conveniently located next to the Tennessee Aquarium, this state-of-the-art museum offers an experience like no other. With interactive touchscreens and multiple engaging movies, it's the most advanced museum I've visited in a long time.

Before my visit, I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t fully understand the significance of the Medal of Honor. However, this museum changed that completely. I now have a profound appreciation for the sacrifices made by these brave individuals, including one remarkable woman.

A standout moment for me was meeting Mr. Bob, one of the museum's knowledgeable staff members. I took his picture, which you can see in my photos. He did an excellent job describing astronaut Scobee's life and achievements, bringing the stories of various Medal of Honor recipients to life in a way I never expected. His passion and detailed storytelling made the experience incredibly impactful.

As a regular person, I didn't anticipate being so moved by a museum visit. But this one changed my heart and deepened my appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy. The Medal of Honor recipients are not just heroes for doing their job; they went above and beyond the call of duty.

I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this museum. Bring your dad, your children—everyone should see it. At half the price of the aquarium, it offers an experience that might just change your life as it did mine.

Solemn, informative. Friendly staff ready to talk and share stories about Tennessee heroes. Clean, easy to get around and observe displays, I was especially impressed by the collection of real Medals of Honor. And if you're in Chattanooga in July I can tell you the a/c works just fine (very important!).

Nice lady in gift shop said you could spend hours in here. I didn't have time for a whole afternoon but I did get my money's worth.

Military history buff? You need to stop by.

The National Medal of Honor Heritage Center in Chattanooga is a must-visit for anyone interested in military history. While it’s not as large as some other military-focused museums, it offers fascinating artifacts and well-done displays that highlight the incredible stories of Medal of Honor recipients. The exhibits are informative and provide great insight into the bravery and sacrifices of these heroes.

The museum is conveniently located just steps away from the Chattanooga Aquarium, making it a perfect companion stop if you’re visiting the area. Despite its compact size, the museum is thoughtfully curated and offers a unique perspective on military history that’s both inspiring and educational.

The only downsides were the pricey admission for the number of exhibits and the expensive parking in nearby paid lots. The area can also be quite congested due to its central location, so plan accordingly.

Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit, especially if you’re a history enthusiast. The stories shared here are powerful and a reminder of the extraordinary courage of those who have served our country. Highly recommend adding it to your Chattanooga itinerary!

This is an excellent museum highlighting many periods of our US history during which soldiers exhibited valor and courage and were then awarded the Medal of Honor for their service. The exhibits and films were excellent. The volunteer who guided us through was very professional and knowledgeable. The facility is large and well laid out. This is also very educational for children.

I really enjoyed learning the history of the first recipients and their connection to the Chattanooga area as well as many others from around the state. We spent a little over an hour watching the videos and looking at several different displays.
