Historic Bath was a fun little day trip.. the tour guides were great.. the buildings hold a lot of nc history and us history.. recommend 5/5 if you like history and are in the area.. you can take as little or as much time as you want here.. I recommend the church open to the public daily as the oldest operating church in America

Excellent, even handed (racial perspective) presentation of history of Bath. Well presented. And I loved the ambient decorations as we walked through. We also went on the two house tours, excellently presented by knowledgeable Nelson, our guide. Recommended.

I was very impressed with this museum! They had great visuals and sound effects and even had a crossword puzzle you could fill out while walking through. Very nice small town museum.

Went here for the first time, that I can remember. May have gone on a school field trip many moons ago. It's a very small, quaint, beautiful little town by the sound. Makes for a quick drive through tour. Stopping in to the museum/gift shop adds to the experience also. Saw a few pubic places to sit on benches and stare out into the water.

If you're into history this is a great place to start in North Carolina. Literally the first town in the state, Historic Bath has some very well preserved houses from the turn of the century... the 19th century. The town is beautiful and peaceful, and the people are pretty friendly. There are a couple museums to visit and you can actually walk through several of the oldest houses. Make sure to stop by Blackbeard's Slices and Ice for some great food and ice cream. I had the Cappuccino flavored and it was delicious.
