I had a chance to visit a friend today in the hospital. I am truly amazed at the care and the facility. My friend was so sick and tonight he looks wonderful! That is from outstanding medical and nursing care. It is a team effort and that whole team is outstanding. The environment is clean, modern and well cared for. There is nothing in Wilmington that can compete with what I witnessed. We are blessed to have this facility in our community

So I’m writing this review though I’m surprised there are not more concerning this medical facility.

Today I had outpatient surgery at this wonderful medical facility. My outstanding care started at 6:15 this morning when I was checked in at registration. I unfortunately do not remember the name of the young lady, but she was professional, caring, and extremely polite, getting me checked in. Upon completion of my paperwork with her, she directed us to the surgical waiting area.

After just a few minutes of waiting, a very friendly nurse with a long braided ponytail brought me back to begin my prep for surgery. She was extremely friendly, jovial, and put me at ease from the very beginning. Needless to say, I have been stressing about my procedure All week.

From this point forward, things will get a little sketchy because I cannot remember all the wonderful support people‘s names that help me. I had minimum had eight medical care professionals looking after me through the entire process.

I will apologize now that I can’t remember everyone’s name. Those that I do remember are Jean, Patrick, and Shannon. All eight medical professionals that tended to my care while they’re doing include the three mention lower my stress immensely. Their bedside manner was beyond. They all took their time, explain things in detail, and were true professionals.

Enclosing I hope that someone in management reads this review because all those attended to me need to get a pat on the back. Management needs to know that they had an All-Star team tending to me this morning.

If I could give -5 stars; oh most definitely I would!

When I tell you I’m disgusted—believe me, I mean it! ( In my most pissed off voice that I can muster )

As a professional in public health with experience in medical practices, I have never encountered an institution as disappointing as this one. The lack of bedside manner, the failure to conduct proper test analyses, and the overall “bare minimum” approach to patient care are beyond frustrating.
It doesn’t help that these providers are so damn young!! HIPPA violations and zero-to-minimum patient privacy, ( the experience was maddening.). I took my neice to this horrible healthcare institution; as she is a teenager, and not really knowing how to describe the necessary pain.
If I wasn’t there to advocate for her, they would not have done the proper testing or ask the applicable questions pertaining to what she was describing. A proper prognosis was never made.

This is exactly why you must advocate for your loved ones. You have to know the right questions to ask, review every document, and ensure they have everything they need. What’s the point of working in the medical field if you treat it like just another 9-to-5 instead of truly caring for patients’ well-being?

This level of negligence is unacceptable! This hospital sucks and is a direct reflection of the institution as a whole.

If I could give no stars I absolutely would. The service that is provided at this hospital is below par. I guess if you need an ice pack, go for it! Nursing staff seem to have poor practice, and Dr.'s seem to have a Fisher Price pretend medical kit.

From the first phone call Kimberly was Awesome! Then upon arrival her and Heather, Dr. Gratian, Shannon, Wendy, Dr. Opper and everyone else were so kind and Great at their Job!! It was more like a family gathering than a medical procedure!! I’m from Wilmington and would drive here every time to receive the excellent care that they give here!!! 5 stars just isn’t enough!!!! Thank you

A lady named april in the emergency room was extremely kind to me. I was having a super hard time mentally and running a fever with a terrible headache. She advocated for me and took the time to put in an IV (I'm a hard stick) which took about 30 mins. She talked to me and calmed me down and told me stories I could really relate to.
I forgot my doctors name but he was also so incredibly kind and made sure to check out everything.
That little bit of kindness goes a long way. It's been a few weeks since I have been there and i just thought about how nice they were.

I was seen today and Dr. Collura, Michelle my nurse was the best!
Valerie and Brinne who did my CT Scan and an ultrasound were so nice.
Highly recommend this hospital.

My mom was admitted to the swing bed unit on 03/30/2024 and was discharged home on 04/23/2024. My family and I could not have asked for any better care than she received. We are so appreciative to the caring and patient staff that took very good care of our mom. Every day we went to see her, the staff was always friendly, smiling and always greeted us coming and going. Just their smiles alone was worth a lot. I myself have had 30 plus years in healthcare and I would recommend Novant Pender Medical Center to anyone. Thank you again to all the staff, Kim Jones, Victoria, Phillip, Asha, Holly just to name a few and there were so many more that I did not get their names.
