Woke up sick one morning with a respiratory something and got an appointment, first time going here because I'm generally well but wanted to love this place as it's close by. I had to miss work and needed a note per my companies policy. The doctor talked to me very briefly about my symptoms, said she "did not like giving out medicine," gave me nothing for a bad fever and bad cough after a covid, strep, and flu test all came back negative. Was told by the doctor to take a warm shower. Well duh, who doesn't know that? If it was something I thought a warm shower would knock out, why did I come to the doctor? I don't go to the doctor often because you do wind up paying hundreds of dollars even with insurance so if i go I'm really sick. I went home without any medication and still had to pay almost $500 for that visit because labcorp bills came months after. Don't go here unless you want them to make you feel worse.

Dr. Reed’s office in Mint Hill neglected my care, even though I was a patient for many years. This office seems to operate outside of the Novant Health procedures and policies. My messages were ignored, my calls were equally unaddressed. I have never seen a doctor put such a burden on a patient just to get an authorized prescription refilled. What an awful place to trust with patient care.

I was extremely pleased with the whole appointment from start to finish. The front desk person was friendly and professional as well as the provider's assistant. Shemelia was friendly, professional and very easy to talk to. Dr. Woldemarian was very up close and personal. She listened to my concerns and gave the appropriate medical advice to help me improve my overall health. I really look forward to being her patient and working with her to get to and accomplish all my health goals. This was most definitely one of the best medical experiences I have had.

From the moment my appointment began, Ms. Tarra Boyd was rude, unpleasant, and displayed a significant lack of professionalism. Despite being only a few minutes into the visit, she kept reminding me that the appointment was limited to 15 minutes and that "only one" concern could be addressed.

Even after I specified the "one" concern I wanted to discuss, she did not listen and provided no next steps or guidance. As I tried to share my symptoms, she focused more on what she could not do for me rather than assessing me verbally and/or by physical exam. However, what she did do was continue to completely ignore my concerns and feelings nor was perplexed to ask me or check for herself anything related to my concerns. In my last attempt, I tried to share with her a piece of condensed information on past test results she raised her hand dismissively and said, "I'm not looking at that." I came out of this visit with no direction whatsoever as she said, "I'm ending this visit" without going over her "15 minutes" might I add.

This experience demonstrated that Ms. Boyd is not the PCP I can rely on to openly address my concerns, feel heard, or develop an action plan to improve my health. This visit was undeniably the worst medical experience I have had in my entire life. I regret not heeding the one-star Google reviews I saw online about this provider. From my perspective, Ms. Boyd appears fundamentally ill-equipped to work with patients who are concerned about their well-being and need comprehensive answers to regain their health. I left the office feeling completely disheartened and emotionally devastated. Never again am I returning here.

Dr Blackshaw and all the nurses and staff at the Novant Hospital Emergency Room in Mint Hill were outstanding. Friendly, efficient, proficient and thorough. I have not experienced this quality of care in a very, very long time. I trust and recommend them highly!

I ignored the other reviews stating the staff weren't friendly and gave it a try. Unfortunately the reviews were right Tarra Boyd was not a welcoming nurse practitioner and I was anxious by the time I left. In so many words she stated that it was my fault that I booked my annual physical online instead of calling and I would have known I needed to fast before getting blood work. As a new patient you would assume she would have been excited and happy to have a new client. I will say the front office staff and the assistant to Tarra we very nice and helpful. I hope Novant pays attention to the reviews and make some changes to this location.

I went in search of a PCP due to previous 3 providers left Novant. Medical assistant was wonderful. The provider Tarra Boyd was not very pleasant or professional. She does not listen to the patient just makes things seem like they’re mandatory to do to obtain a referral. As a healthcare worker in a primary care setting for the same organization I questioned what she said was mandatory and got discharged. Management never reached out to hear my concerns.

I don't have an experience...I was looking to find a practice nearer to my home since my doctor left his practice. After reading about the rude staff and slow entries into MyChart...I will not be calling for an appointment. You should address your staff's manners and remind them to be courteous and helpful to your patients. They are costing you new patients. If it was just one or two reviews I wouldn't put much weight on it. But you have too any people expressing the same feelings for there not to be an issue.
