If you are in the area, this is a free, cool quick stop. Supposedly this is the oldest building in Ohio. Cute cows were across the street. Kids liked the fort and pretty sure we saw where bullets hit the stone above the window slits.

The Fort is incredible, possibly built prior to the French Indian wars and in close proximity to Coshocton and Gnadenhutten, built along the Walhonding River, it's definitely a neat part of history, no admission and a quick stop well worth seeing.

This is crazy that it's probably almost 350 years old ! Free and a quick stop off US 36. I gave this a 5 star because it was so easy and surprising. It's a pretty unimpressive structure, but when you consider the context its construction- it's amazing! A Stone fort built amidst a wilderness amongst natives of uncertain alignment.

We came across the Old Stone Fort following a geocache path through the back roads. I just love stumbling upon old things like this. There was a stand that had all the information about the fort on it. There were weapon windows and it was just a pretty amazing site amongst all the cornfields sitting there. I loved looking at the old locks on the door and the structure in general. A very nice roadside attraction to stop by and read about!

It's a little stone building that was believed to be the oldest building in Ohio. It might not be but there are adorable cows across the street.

Cool little find while out exploring some small towns and villages in Ohio. This is really nothing special. I wouldn't drive out of my way to see it. But it is a cool historical spot and has been preserved and still standing. No real parking lot here or anything, just have to pull off to the side of the road and into the grass.

Great roadside stop while on bike or out for a drive. Has great history, and you get the opportunity to say you stood inside a building with such history behind it. It sits right next to someone's house trailer, so don't be alarmed. You can pull up right in front of the fort to view and explore.

The building is in pretty good shape. Nothing has really been done with it on the inside though. I think it would be cool to have it fixed up a little.
