This place is a nightmare. The nursing staff was pretty good though except for the night nurses on two separate occasions. My father needed help going to the bathroom so he told me to go tell the nurses at then nursing station because if he used his call button they would take forever. Once I arrived at the nurses station his nurse had her back to me and was gossiping with her coworkers. I stood there waiting for her to finish and when she finally realized I was standing there she proceeded to lecture me on why we need to use the call button. When she finally let me speak I told her my father needed to use the bathroom and she asked me couldn't I do it? I told her that's not my job. While he's in the hospital paying thousands of dollars a day to be there. That's literally her job to help him. Then she kept making little sarcastic comments about "oh I'm sorry it's not your job to take care of your father." Ridiculous and unprofessional as can be. A previous night my father had been confused and pulled his IV out. One of the same night nurses came to put a new one in and I feel like she was intentionally causing him pain while doing it. She started telling him this was his fault because he pulled out the IV. Then she put two new IVs in! At one point she put alcohol on an open wound and held it there while he was yelling about how much it hurt. She just held it there and stared at him like some kind of sociopath before finally taking it off his arm. Two of his doctors told him he should just go to hospice and not even try to get better because there was no chance of recovery. He went from 40ml oxygen down to 4. That's a pretty big recovery in my opinion. This hospital is clean and has good and new equipment but some of the staff is just absolutely awful.

Staff was good .
But I like something explained to me .

If patients not able to actually feed themselves why not this noted on staff notice.

I can’t believe food trays brought in set by wall and left and no one from staff ever checked on if patients where able to eat …

Good thing some had family that was there to help their family members.

The wait time in the ER must be addressed!! 8 months ago I waited around 8 hours to see a doctor. About 7 months ago I had a family member also wait about 8 hours. Now…just this past week, I had a family member and a close friend wait over 10 HOURS to see a doctor! An 8 hour or longer wait time should NOT be “the norm”!
I spoke with others patients while in the ER waiting room and discovered that some of them had waited over 13 HOURS to see a doctor! This is unacceptable!

The waiting rooms are small and crowded. Having everyone on top of one another is unsanitary!! Staff only provided one update in the 10 hours we waited. There is only one unisex restroom in each waiting area, ripped chairs, and there is not a phone charging station or coffee machine. People were leaving the ER frustrated, even after waiting hours!!!!

This hospital has a lot of great employees and the out patient facility is outstanding so, I hated to write this review, but the ER dysfunction is ruining this hospital’s reputation! I am not sure where the breakdown is, but it needs to be addressed. Newton County keeps growing; therefore. the hospital should too!

If this had been a one time issue, I wouldn’t be writing this review, but this ER has some major issues going on! Get it together, my family and friends deserve better.

This place shouldn’t even get one star from me.
My grandmother was admitted on 10/7/24 for a stroke.
The room she is in has not been cleaned r
Since that’s day. Today Is 10/10/24 and still filthy. I have asked and asked for someone to clean this room and they said the cleaning lady said she cleaned it, I said she did not as you can tell it’s still the same as yesterday.
The nurses she has the first 2 days are a joke. They don’t care for the patients, they gossip when in the room with patients!!
When her alarm went off on her bed which is the fall alarm it took them more than 5 minutes to even come in the room.
The phone in this room does not work!
And when she pressed the alarm button to get help for the bathroom we waited over 20 minutes each time until o had to personally go get a nurse, someone who wasn’t even a nurse to come help her. The floor in this room is so sticky my shoes get stuck
This is ridiculous.
And to top it off the nurses that take her blood and put her Ivs in have hurt her and she has so many bruises that isn’t normal

Just had my blood drawn by Rob, one of the emergency room technicians. This man is outstanding at his job and customer service. He not only drew my blood by using ultrasound, he also educated me as he went. I am and was really impressed!

I’m really not sure as to why this great Hospital is under 4 stars. I just moved from NJ & this is my second time coming here to the Emergency Room. Both times, I’ve had a great experience!! The intake nurses were great, the nurses in the back are great, the entire experience was great. Definitely warm and welcoming. Today I came and my daughter’s nurse was Jill and her doctor was Dr.Cooper, I cannot stress enough how great these women are. I believe the biggest thing while working in a health care environment is HOSPITALITY. Thank you a lot!!

I’ve been in healthcare for 30 years on the administration/management side so when I say this, I say it professionally speaking. Unfortunately, one of my parents was in this hospital. My experience with the nursing staff was incredibly disappointing. Despite repeated attempts to get basic needs met, nurses were often unresponsive, dismissive, and seemed uncaring towards my parent’s concern. They frequently waited extended periods for medication, vital checks, help with using the bathroom, and even simple requests like water, leaving them feeling neglected and frustrated throughout their stay. The lack of attentiveness and professionalism from the nursing staff created a stressful hospital environment for the family as well as the patient.
Unprofessionalism, bad attitudes, just a lack of empathy. When you call, they play around on the phone hang up on you. I personally have never experienced something this bad on this level in about 15 years.
