My son LOVES firetrucks! We had a great time. We were able to take pictures in a real firetruck. I loved that they were able to try out a real hose. The workers and volunteers were really great. Jeff was so patient with my son and helped him with the hose. The former volunteer firefighter we met in the museum was wonderful as well. The air conditioned museum was a nice getaway from the heat. As a Raleigh native, I learned a lot that I never knew. I loved the history. I feel like they really did good with the amount of space they had.

Very nice free take in, was awesome that an actual Engine company was onsite in addition to the museum docents. Really enjoyed seeing the joy it was giving some kids who were visiting. Credit to the entire department the professional face put forward by the firefighters and volunteers.

Small museum with amazing people. This museum is the training center but the only thing that the people can interact is the museum and two fire trucks

Small museum open the 2nd Saturday of Every month. We had a great time, fire people were out helping kids work a fire hose, answering questions about the two fire trucks we could play in and a small museum with lots of artifacts, pictures and history of the Raleigh fire department. The inside museum is no touch so just make sure your toddler+ age children can enjoy without wanting to touch everything!

Great museum. They have active and retired firefighters that are happy to share what they know and explain the tools they use.
This is a great place to take your kids to learn more about and meet firefighters.

I went with 3 kids under 6. The fire fighters showed us the equipment and answered our many questions. All the kids had a great time and it was informative and enjoyable for all.
