Absolutely amazing place. I love museums and learning about new things especially in my neighborhood. This museum is very educational and I got a very cute watercolor print. I will definitely be coming back to buy some t-shirts and books. I would recommend anyone and everyone to go here. The neighborhood it’s in isn’t the best so just make sure nothing is in your car when you park and you will be fine.

If you want to know the history of Richmond, Standard Oil refinery (later called Chevron), Ford manufacturing plant and Richmond ship yards, this will be the place.

There are also some artefacts and explanation on native Indian who were living in the Bay Area for thousands of year s

Museum’ staffs are friendly and knowledgable.

The neighbourhood didn’t seem to be the safest part of the town, so watch you belongings and don’t leave anything in your parked vehicles as a minimum

It's a very small museum. Street parking is available. It displays the history of Richmond. It also displays some articles from WW2 . It displays the first model "A" Ford car assembled at Richmond, Shipyard Phone, Fire Alarm Repeater, Rosettes from Richmond Union High School and many more. It has a small seating area near the entrance of the museum. The staff are friendly. We need less than 30 mins to take a tour of this museum. Small Rose garden

This place was awesome. After living in Richmind 3 years, I finally managed to visit and I am so glad I did. Cool old maps of the area showing the ranches and properties before incorporation and lots of interesting exhibits and photos. The highlight is a Model A Ford, manufactured at the Ford plant in Richmond, on display which had been used for years as a municipal car and then restored and contributed to the museum. The building is an old Carnegie Library building as well. Not the greatest neighborhood, but, hey, it's Richmond, not Beverly Hills! Definitely worth a visit, especially before or after seeing the Rosie The Riveter National Park Museum.

Go see the recently restored Victor Arnauthoff mural! One of the great Depression era muralists working for FDR's public works administration Arnauthoff painted and supervised the Coit Tower murals. More recently his "Life of Washington" ... which explicitly (and correctly) shows Washington's involvment in slavery (as an owner of slaves) and the early colonial record of aggression towards native Americans ... has been the center of a storm of controversy as it's removal has been promoted by politically correct "identity politics" folks. It is currently on a wall in the now closed due to Pandemic Washington High School and awaits it's fate in the courts after a lawsuit brought by the high school's alumni organization which wants to see the mural remain to be displayed.
