We stayed in a historic room of the Rough Riders Hotel, off season it is much less expensive during the peak summer season. Walking distance from all the restaurants and museums, Theodore Roosevelt National Park is just blocks away. The room was comfortable, clean. Very friendly staff. The restaurant has AMAZING breakfast! Other meals are a bit pricey.

This is an historic hotel that has existed for about 140 years. It has been very well maintained but still looks it's age. We stayed in the historic portion of the building, which is a part of the main building. The rooms here are on the second floor and there is no elevator. Beware! |The room was fine, but on the small side. The bed was on the hard side, but not too uncomfortable. There is no refrigerator or microwave, but there is a small individual coffee pot with some coffee and teas. The bathroom has been redone and is very nice with an absolutely enormous shower but the water pressure in very low. Our room was very quiet, which we appreciated.|There is a newer side of the hotel that might be more comfortable.|The staff was very nice and accommodating to our questions and needs.|We stayed for 2 nights and it was fine, but if we were to stay here again, we would choose a room on the newer side.

Lovely hotel in Medora. Our room was large, clean, and attractive. The hotel lobby has a nice area to sit and relax, with a large library of books about the western United States. The hotel restaurant - Theodore's -- serve us an excellent dinner and breakfast. The location is excellent, right in Medora, allowing for evening walks around town. We would stay here again and highly recommend it.

First the good part: you cannot beat the location of the hotel if you are planning to visit TRNP. It is literally within walking distance of the visitor center. It also pretty central to Medora itself, so you can walk to the town square and restaurants, not that you'll ever be able to get a seat to eat anywhere. The room was pretty spacious.||Now the bad part. We were relegated to the Wooley Boys "cabins" because we are a family of 5. These are not actual cabins - they are more like connected 1 story apartments, separated by a thin connecting door, which I can attest to does not keep out noise, as my neighbors had a baby who we heard late at night and early in the morning. But that really isn't the bad part. The "cabin" is literally located in an alley, across from a VERY active laundry facility that has this weird incessant beeping that happens every 2 minutes. Obviously it must be hot in there, because the workers keep the garage door (which we faced) open all day long. Directly in front of our 2' wide "patio" was a local resident's backyard. While they had nice landscaping, between the laundry and the awkwardness of staring into their yard, there was no way we were sitting outside. We also had the pleasure of being situated next to the dumpster, so garbage disposal was quite easy.||This was absolutely a let down after the amount of money we paid to stay here and seeing the beautiful pictures of the historic hotel, as we couldn't even see it. We were a block and a half away.

Glad we stayed in the local Medora town. We spent two days exploring national Park in the south and north unit in the door was very conveniently located. Easy to walk to restaurants and shops and hear the local music. Our room was fine with a comfortable bed and it was clean.

The lobby was pretty with an upscale rustic look. The check-in desk clerk was super friendly and helpful. We had a ground floor double queen room (not in the historic wing) and our window looked onto the back yards of the neighboring houses. There were blinds but no blackout curtains so bring your sleep mask if you want darkness. It was a small room but the layout worked well. The bathroom was large with a very nice tiled walk-in shower. The vanity was tall to accommodate the extra deep sink. Nice, thick towels were provided. The décor included a Theodore Roosevelt themed teddy bear and a coffee table book about Medora, both of which were available for purchase at the front desk. We parked in the small lot behind the hotel and there was a card-key door at that entrance which was very convenient to our room.

This looked like a great location and indeed it was. They had amazing staff! We had been hiking all morning until check in so we were sweaty and exhausted when we arrived. Our rooms were not ready so they quickly shifted us into rooms that were ready so we didn’t have to wait. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, the rooms were very clean and comfortable and I would highly recommend!
