First and last time going to S&H. Was told brake drum lip required grinding down to inspect brakes. Told them to turn back the adjusters a bit and all used drums have rust lip on the edge (most of the time a screw driver rubbed around takes care of it). Plus it is not possible to grind the lip without first removing it, aka backing off the adjuster a bit to remove drum. Anyone with automotive mechanical experience knows how absurd their statement is. Then they said most adjusters are seized, and when I told them I clean and lubricant mine when I do the brake work, they admitted mine adjusters were not seized. They tried to dazzled me with this and that (I'm sure this is what they do to make you feel good about being ripped off), but $45 for something that didn't need done seemed fair to them. Plus charging $33.00 for a exempt (under 5k miles) emissions sticker also seems fair to them. Most shops charge 1/2 or less for the $4.15 fee they pay and the time to do the report. I absolutely dread going for yearly state inspection because of places like this! Can't wait for the "sorry about your bad experience " and the B$justification.

A warning light showed on the dash n Steve checked n explained to me exactly what was happening n why it was good that I had it checked. He gives a discount to senior citizens n for following s&h auto on fb. I appreciate his care for the customer as well as good service on the vehicle.
