The beauty and grace panoramic view keeps us coming back. Plenty of picnic area and a few benches in the shade. We saw 2 dozen deer in the field of view. And yes, easy viewing of Sandhill Cranes. There are 3 free telescopes to use, but one needs repairing.

Great observation deck for watching cranes gather in surrounding fields. My most recent visit was this week, mid-October, and I was thrilled to watch a few hundred sandhill cranes at first light through sunrise. Bring your binoculars if you have them, but there are also a few scopes in place, and it's even enjoyable to the unaided eye. There's nothing like hearing the calls of groups of cranes!

This is such a wonderful place to see the cranes in all of their glory. I have been here many times, and it never disappoints. People who visit are all interested in the birds. People are friendly. It can get very crowded, but it is fun to share the experience with others. Go out for sunrise if you wish to experience the cranes with fewer people. Port o potties are located near the stand. If you are hungry after seeing the birds, I highly recommend Anita Cup of Coffee. It is minutes from the stand. Wonderful local diner. Hot coffee and fantastic breakfast options. Cranes and coffee...what more could you ask for?

Wow what a sight. We honestly had no idea about this place and happen to stumble upon it on one of the best days you could. I've never seen do many Sandhill Cranes in one spot. I recommend going at Sunset.

The cranes no longer gather by the stand. Photographer's will get better shots driving south of the stand were the cranes a gathering in large flocks in the fields
