Sorry, I don't agree with these negative reviews. People talking about the office decor? Get real. This is an office practically on the beach. So what, the office is outdated? I've been seeing Dr. Ned for about 6 years now. I go to this office for the medical care, not the ambiance. Dr. Ned is the best primary care Dr. I've ever had. Easy to talk to and very down to earth. He takes his time, asks questions and answers them. He has a "listen to what the patient is telling you" approach. We often have a laugh or two when I see him. He's a good guy and a good Dr.

I recently vacationed in beautiful Sarasota with my family. First day at the beach and I got water in my ear and an ear infection developed the next morning. Upon my visit to Sarasota Medical Center, a doctor's office that looks like it's straight out of the '70's, the receptionist made me call my insurance company to make sure that they would cover the visit even though I had already called from my hotel. (Don't the receptionists usually do that?)
The doctor was very nice and laid back, and said I had a pretty nasty little ear infection. He offered to have the nurse rinse it out with warm water, for pain relief, but that it wasn't medically necessary. I said sure, thinking it wasn't really a medical procedure, and he made no mention that it wasn't covered! It simply involved squirting some warm water into my ear and letting it rinse out into a receptacle. I paid my $25 copay and was on my way.
Fast-forward 2 months, and I get a bill from the office, stating that this procedure was $120, and my insurance covered $72 of it, leaving me with a balance of almost $50. I begged with the billing receptionist to wave this, as it was an optional procedure that I was under the impression my insurance would cover, and she gave me attitude like it was a contest and she was determined to win! Had I known they were going to nickel and dime me I would have simply washed my ear out in the shower.
$120 to rinse my ear out with water!!!! If that sounds good to you, you'd love this clinic!!

Dr Ned helped me a great deal when my asthma flared up due to having a virus and significant pollen allergies. He collected a good medical background on me and made a knowledgeable diagnosis/treatment plan. He saved my vacation. The staff was friendly and competent. As suggested, I made an appointment to see the doctor and was seen on time .

Took my sick 4 month old there today at noon. Website, hours on front door, and recorded voicemail all say they are open Monday-Friday 8-5, however they are closed. Terrible communication, especially what is advertising as “immediate care”. You may have a great medical team, but you are not meeting true definition of the service you claim to provide. And the poor dental receptionist next door is fielding all the frustrated patients. Not very neighborly.

Slightly better experience than with their Tamiami office. The staff is generally nicer than that of the other office, but frequently unhelpful. Dr. Ned is plenty nice and makes sure you understand precisely what and why he's prescribing, or why he's chosen a certain course of treatment, etc.

This review only pertains to the manner in which this office is run. While I love Dr. Ned and the high standard of care he has offered my family and me over the past 4 years, the office is now run so inefficiently that it is extremely frustrating. It is nearly impossible to reach anybody on the phone days in a row and the answering machine message is nearly a month behind with closing dates. It's time to step it up!

There’s far too many negative reviews on here from hoighty toighty tourists. I’ve been seeing dr. Ned here for 6 years. He and the reception, and the nurses have treated me with nothing but respect and given me all the help I need. If you expect to be pampered and given a massage for your ear infection, go back to NYC.

Joke......never visited a more unorganized clinic in my life. No regular schedule, open and close with no notice. Took 2 1/2 hour wait to tell me what we already knew....ear infection. Typical when there is only 1 clinic on the island. Ugh!
