My mother was recently here for an orthopedic surgery and post surgical recovery. I can’t speak for the rest of the hospital, but the nurses and other staff as part of that unit are nothing less than extraordinary. Every person we encountered cared about my mom and was great at what they did. I’d call out Annie the Physical Therapist and Jane the Case Manager as standouts, but this entire team is just fantastic. We are deeply grateful for the care my Mom (and we) received here.

Great hospital staff. They’re extremely accommodating and skilled. I’ve had numerous experiences as far as surgery and exams.
I will caution if you have a kidney stone and it’s the WEEKEND , from experience they may send you home ( with pain management medication) even if it’s 10-12 millimeters in size, with no chance of passing on your own, and tell you to follow up on Monday. Overall, great, competent hospital, with beautiful views, in a nice community.

On Saturday, June 29, I visited the South County emergency room. I was experiencing a reaction to a wasp sting. After speaking to the triage receptionist, I was immediately taken into The emergency room, even though there were some people waiting in the reception area. I was treated and care for by a nurse named Leticia. I could not have been given any better care than that which I received. After a few hours of medication administration and fluid IV I was discharged with a prescription. I wish to commend the doctors and nurses of the emergency room at South County and especially Leticia for putting me at ease and taking such good care of me.

I had surgery for my shoulder replacement, 3 months ago. Great clean hospital with knowledgeable health care professionals. Dr Mason did a nice job for my shoulder replacement. As a retired RN, I highly recommend this hospital!

DO NOT use the emergency room at this hospital. They will make you wait for several hours even if you reserve a spot. Some of the nurses are wonderful but many of the staff are rude and unaccommodating for people who are clearly looking to get help. They are clearly understaffed and the doctors are leaving in droves for a reason. STAY AWAY

I visited SoCoHo on Friday evening June 27th 2025 with a severely infected sunburn on both ankles and feet. The care I received was abhorrent as both the nurse and doctor both agreed that I was in bad condition and should receive medical attention consisting of IV fluid intake, oral antibiotics, and dressing of my wounds. After about a 15-20 minute period of waiting after my initial visit with the doctor a nurse returned to tell me there was nothing more that hospital staff could do to help me and I was served a packet of papers deemed to serve as aftercare instructions. That was it. I had large blisters on both legs and feet and could barely walk without experiencing extreme pain. Simple as that... good luck buddy, hope you feel better. Stay away South County Hospital. If you've a serious condition, you could possibly die.

My husband had surgery. The experience was awesome. Pre admission testing needs a shout out. The department behind the scene. My husband has multiple medical issues. Pre admission testing worked to assure the surgery would be safe.
From start to finish everyone was awesome.
