Our visit here was very emotional; I cried the entire way through and had to skip a large section of the middle to be honest. Thankfully, the staff were very knowledgeable and very friendly, which helped me a great deal in navigating my emotional journey through the exhibits. I was surprised by how many interactive opportunities there were to listen to voices of survivors and to follow their journeys. If you are looking to further understand the history of the holocaust and to be inspired to foster loving relationships in your own community, I highly recommend you make time to engage at the Museum. It’s a good idea to bring tissues.

The Great Satan

Too much information? If it interests you, you can easily spend 3+ hours here reading all of the text boxes and listening to the first hand accounts. My wife loves learning all about this, but for me it was long slow march

I came to the museum with some colleagues and students from Lindenwood. We were impressed by the museum's range of artifacts and art. It's very interactive. The docents were helpful and welcoming. I spent about two hours but i could've spent twice that; there's so much to take in. We'll be back in the future and I hope many more St. Louisans visit this important part of our local, national, and international history.

What an incredible museum! I’ve been to my fair share of holocaust museums, including the Dachau concentration camp in Germany and this museum is completely different than the rest of them. I loved the extreme connection to St Louis and focus on what led to this massacre, all relating to current events and ultimately focusing on how we can each individually insure this doesn’t happen again. The plans they have to engage with the larger community and through the metro education system are worth supporting and take a direction I wish more museums would do.
All of the museum staff and docents were super knowledgeable and happy to not only answer questions but engage in a conversation.
It’s also only a short 6 min drive from the airport so a great stop heading in or out of the airport.
Overall, can’t recommend this museum enough! Thank you to all the St Louis survivors, museum staff, docents, and curators for an unforgettable experience.

Many people just seem to want the gory, horrifying pictures to gawk at, but there was so much more to the holocaust than just that. Others are complaining its too much reading. Seriously? These plaques and storyboards are detailing the lives and horrors Jewish people dealt with daily for so long and you can't take a couple of hours to honor them by reading it?

Huge amount of info including a great timeline on the walls to follow with a knowledgeable staff available if needed.

Detailed in words, they need to show the horror of this tradegy through large pictures that truly depict this nightmare. ...people, young people included will not truly understand what truly happened unless they see it, visualize it....feel it...show the events of years of tradegy in Pictures.....

The museum is absolutely beautiful, somber, and respectful to Holocaust victims and survivors. It is said the the visit can be about an hour to and hour and a half. I spent about 2 1/2 hours and still didn't get through the exhibits in the way I wanted to (I didn't wear comfortable shoes). We must never forget the atrocities committed towards not only the Jewish people, but other people such as the mentally and physically disabled, as well as individuals that did not fit the 'Aryan' mold. The museum is a somber reminder of how the world viewed the Jewish people and how we must never again allow for the crimes against humanity. The volunteers were amazing and helpful- willing to answer any questions. I plan to return again and hope to do the guided tour.

All of the museum staff were very friendly and helpful during our visit. A museum educator (Diane) guided us through the exhibitions and provided excellent explanations which enhanced our understanding a great deal.
