The Francis House

Wonderful stay. Literally a few blocks away from downtown Calistoga. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to walk to everything. Shopping, restaurants, bars, etc.. Staff was gracious and attentive. Robert, the onsite manager, went over and above. Room was outstanding with super comfortable bed. Amazing breakfast every morning. Will definitely return. A very unique and historical property.

The antidote to stress/anxiety? The Francis House!!||Beautiful room, beautiful grounds. Lovely delicious breakfast. They had a recommended list of restaurants. We went to the two favorites of Robert’s, our host. Both excellent. Calistoga a sweet buzzy village. ||It was a special weekend. The Francis House is the quintessential spot for making memories.

The pool area and common spaces were just as lovely, offering a peaceful setting to unwind.||Being centrally located in Calistoga, The Francis House made it easy to explore nearby wineries and restaurants, yet we found ourselves eager to return to the comfort of the hotel. ||Richard and Dina’s personalized recommendations for local wineries and dining—shared before we arrived and throughout our stay—were impeccable, adding a truly delightful and thoughtful touch to our experience!||This boutique gem is truly a destination in itself—an unforgettable blend of history, hospitality, and elegance. We loved it and look forward to visiting again!

We took a weekend away and absolutely loved this place. It was early March and thus a bit cool/wet but we had a wonderful time. Richard and Dina are exceptional hosts and very welcoming. The rooms are updated and chic. You can tell that no expense was spared, and Richard and Dina meticulously care for the property. We were debating between the Four Seasons and here, and definitely made the right choice. Dina made wonderful dinner recommendations/reservations as well as a private tasting in the caves at Chateau Boswell. I can't wait to return...hopefully in warmer weather to use the beautiful pool and tennis court.

This place is magical. Decided to hide away in Calistoga for a night. First time staying at this facility. Spur of the moment booking and Robert easily made it happen. Glad I did...it's an amazing place. Well appointed, fabulous staff, perfect breakfast. I'll be back!

The Francis House is an exceptional place to stay. The owners Dina and Richard have put their heart and soul into creating a wonderful experience for their guest. Every morning I woke up excited to see what wonderful breakfast that Dina had planned. Amazing food! We also enjoyed meeting other guest that were frequent Napa Valley visitors.

We stayed at The Francis House for our annual wine country trip and it was the best ever!!! Richard and Dina are fantastic hosts and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is exceptional in every regard. Breakfast is different each day, and wonderful each day. The story of the house/hospital/restoration was fascinating and the pictures show how remarkable saving this house was. The amenities are perfect and very comfortable. Calistoga is a welcome change from the hustle and bustle at other spots in the valley. We loved it and are planning our return now.
