The Old Sorrel-Weed House Museum & Tours - Savannah, Georgia

My group and I have had an interesting time at La casa Sorrel. The staff takes their work very seriously and you get into the history of the house from minute one, it is very well preserved, some areas seem more modern than the time. Each room has its history and its charm, on the tour they show you images that corroborate the history. There are certain rooms that make you feel things that are different from normal, it is not a haunted house as such but rather its history is quite tragic and due to this it has left that ghostly atmosphere. There are two buildings and the tour is approximately one hour, after the explanation of each room they let you see for yourself and take photos. It has been interesting to see and learn from the inside one of the most famous stories of Savannah. I recommend it. They have a Facebook group where people share their videos and photos looking for supernatural things captured during the visit. I recommend it.

Mi grupo y yo hemos pasado un tiempo interesante en La casa Sorrel. El personal se toma muy enserio su trabajo y te metes en la historia de la casa desde el minuto uno, esta muy bien conservada, algunas áreas parecen mas modernas de la época. Cada sala tiene su historia y su encanto, en el recorrido te muestran imágenes que corroboran la historia. Hay ciertas estancias que te hacen sentir cosas diferentes a lo normal, no es una casa de espanto como tal sino que su historia es bastante trágica y debido a ello ha quedado ese ambiente fantasmal. Son dos edificios y el recorrido es de una hora aproximadamente, luego de la explicación de cada sala te dejan ver por ti mismo y hacer fotos. Ha sido interesante ver y conocer desde adentro una de las historias mas famosas de Savannah. Tienen un grupo de Facebook donde la gente comparte sus videos y fotos en busca de cosas sobrenaturales capturadas durante la visita. Lo recomiendo.

This was a fascinating look into savanah's history and the sorrel and weed families. We really liked the tour guide. He was personable and even answered the million questions from the one kid that didn't know when to zip the lip (there's always 1) 🙂
You should definitely go here and take the tour. The tours run on the hour till 4pm.

We went to Savannah back in October and had an amazing experience at the Sorrel Weed House. We did a day-time tour with Calvin. The Sorrel Weed House is so lucky to have someone like Calvin on their team! He was knowledgeable about not only the house but Savannah history in general. His background is in preservation and African American studies, so he made sure that we got a well-rounded deep dive into the history. He was also very funny and personable and played off the tour group to give us a really personal experience. His passion for the city and this house really came through in just the hour or two we spent with him. We would come back here just to hang out with Calvin. Plus, he said he met Zac Efron while they were filming in the area so that's a bonus.

The house itself was right in the heart of Savannah. It was beautiful and the grounds were well maintained. The other employees we interacted with were kind and upbeat. They even had decorated for Halloween with little skeletons everywhere. I recommend this location to everyone who is planning a spooky, historical vacation.

We did the after hours paranormal investigation at 11:00 PM. I had previously done the earlier tour and this one was so much better. I like doing investigations with smaller groups and getting some fun equipment to play with. Our guide was Eve and she was fantastic. She gave us some awesome history and explained her own experiences with the spirits. It was very fun and a very spooky tour. Definitely not for little ones. The stories can get gruesome and it's very dark and creepy in there, especially the basement. We loved it and had some fun encounters in a few locations. We recommend it more than the earlier tour if you want a more authentic ghost hunt at an amazing historic site.

Did not see a ghost. Nor did a ghost touch us. Heard some cool stories about the place and saw some ghostly pictures. Other than that, it's kinda hot in there. Nice tour. Tour guide was nice. Hope she is doing well.

We decided to do the ghost tour for the Sorrel-Weed House. The staff and volunteers take really great care of this historic home and the ghost tour was really neat where you were allowed to free roam a bit. Shout out to our guide/paranormal expert Aubrey who did an amazing job. No complaints and definitely would come back to Savannah just to tour this beautiful home again and learn more of its secrets.
