I went here to turn in new patient paperwork and Kristen got everything updated for me and scheduled me an appointment on the spot. She was extremely friendly and had the best personality! Another worker named Jen greeted me as soon as she saw me with a smile and was very friendly as well. I’m really glad I made the switch to this doctors office. It seems like it will be a wonderful experience!

Horrible customer service. I was laid off right before Christmas and had a new patient appointment scheduled 27 December. I was notified on Christmas via email that my insurance had also been terminated. As I was certain they were not open on Christmas I did not bother calling and I attempted to call the office two times on the 26th to attempt to reschedule my appointment. I called twice and was sent to an on-call nurse both times who could not assist me with my appointment. I called first thing in the morning, the 27th and explained what happened and they declined to reschedule my appointment because I did not leave a voicemail, even though leaving a voicemail was not an option. This place is a joke and I guess it’s a sign that I would not be receiving the best, most competent care here anyways, as they don’t even know when they’re closed, the prompts sent you to a triage nurse.

My husband had 2 appointments at the NSB location. He never saw the Doctor we saw a nurse practioner. Which isn't an issue but your not told your not seeing a doctor. The nurse practioner was a man and I Unfortunately don't remember his name. He speaks loudly, he talks down to you to the point that I flat out asked him if he was aware that he was speaking to us as if he thought we were stupid. My husband had to go to the ER before his follow up appointment that i attended and he scoffed and said,"Really? For what? Why did you go to the ER?!" He looked at me and said loudly,"Oh you weren't here at his last appointment! You didn't see how he was!" My husband gets nervous at doctors appointments and had trouble remembering things that were asked and I couldn't make it due to having pneumonia. Honestly, just imagine being nervous to go to a doctors appointment and getting yelled at because of it, leaving with only anxiety medication that has side effects of an issue your already having chronically, and then being spoken about badly like your not sitting right there. This nurse also stated he would send a referral for a neurologist and cardiologist literally over and over and over through out our appointment because we had done some diagnostics and couldn't figure out his symptoms. He only sent a referral for a cardiologist. No neurologist referal even though my husband has a family history of brain cancer and we were told multiple times he would do a referral. I called the call center and just canceled the follow up appointment. I can not sit in a room and just have a provider argue and get an attitude with me or my husband while we're literally just explaining his symptoms and saying things like "well that doesn't help me" everytime we answer a question. The front desk was kind, the medical assistant was very kind, couldn't tell you anything about the Doctors. I can tell you that the nurse we dealt with could use some continuing educational on mental health and not ask questions like," what is there to be anxious about!?" Or some anger management because he was irritated within 3 seconds of being in the room with us. The appointment left us both very stressed out and frustrated.

This office has been seeing my children for 5 years, and they are the best! Jessica Reader really takes time to listen to my concerns. She allows me to ask questions I may need reassurance or education on. I appreciate that she remembers the issues we were having at the last appointment and follows up thoroughly. The MA Lilly, and Manager Kristin were so patient working with both of my kids to get their eye exams completed and still had fun with them (because you know two toddlers cant sit still) I feel heard when I come to this office, and Im always taken back in the best way, at their attentivness towards my childrens needs. I highly recommend this office if your looking for a provider and office staff that truly care!

I used to be under Dr. Yee back from 2011 to 2013. My job situation changed as well as my insurance, so I stopped using this practice. After Hurricane Ian in 2022, I moved much closer to the beachside and within walking distance of my former GP. Now that I have decent insurance with affordable co-pays, Volusia Medical Center was at the top of my mind.

When I called the phone number on the website, I reached an associate (who was obviously overseas) who looked me up and said that it would be necessary to re-register. The agent asked me for various pieces of personal information, including my mailing address and e-mail address. The agent said that her system “would not let her” use a PO Box, so I was forced to give her my physical address. She also said the e-mail was not optional, as the registration form would need to go there. After I provided all this information, the associate than placed me on hold to check with “management” to see if I could be registered. She came back and said I would hear back from the management team. I received an e-mail asking me to fill out a form on HelloSign.com – a website that seems similar to DocuSign.com. It was essentially a rough, ugly-looking photocopy of the registration form with text boxes overlaid on the parts that would normally be written in. Some parts – like the Consent to Telemedicine – were not optional and had to be completed for the form to be sent in at all.

This process seemed significantly different from my past experiences with doctors. In the past, appointments would be scheduled first and patients would show up – usually a little early – and fill out all the paperwork before the appointment. Even after giving the information requested over the phone, I still didn't have an appointment. I didn't feel comfortable providing sensitive medical information on a web form, so I showed up in person.

When I showed up, I remarked to the lady (assuming that's what this person identifies as and goes by “she/her” pronouns) that I didn't know if I had spoken to someone from this office or to a call center. The lady firmly corrected me by stating that it wasn't a call center and that it was a member of their staff. I snarkily replied, “Yeah, a call center.” As she worked on my paperwork, I asked her if she found what I said to be offensive. She clarified that some people do use it in a mean way but that they do have remote workers – including people in the Philippines – and they are considered part of the office staff. I said that I suppose I felt entitled to use the term “call center” because I have worked in the industry; the lady said she did, too. I said that the term would have been correct and that it doesn't necessarily imply outsourced work, though there are certain mannerisms that tip off whether it is domestic or offshore. I added that call centers handle both inbound and outgoing interactions and can be on-shore (domestic) or offshore. The lady said that they just prefer not to use that term because the people answering the phones are part of the staff.

I provided my mailing address information which – wouldn't you know it – she was able to accept in person just fine! Then, I handed back the packet she had just printed, apologized for having her print it, and firmly informed her that I would not be moving forward with registration. She accepted my answer with no further questions, and I helped myself to the door.

Is it too late to just go back to 2013 when the person you talked to on the phone was the same person you would see in the actual office? Regardless of whether history will judge me in the right or wrong for how I handled these interactions, the receptionist's red hair and nose ring were, themselves, a huge red flag to me that the values of this business don't align with my own. They seem more aligned with political parties who suffered major electoral losses recently. Given THAT revelation, I think I'd just rather stay sick for a little while longer, thanks.

We just moved to Florida and were worried about finding new doctors and decided to try one close to our new home. We were very blessed to find Andrew Granello to handle our medical needs. He listens, makes sure you understand the treatment plan, is smart, straightforward and is the most caring and conscientious professional we have ever met. He is responsive, reachable and makes a real difference in medical care going above and beyond in multiple visits for the past few months between all our family members. We are so thankful and appreciative of all his time in doing research to be sure we get the right med and making follow up calls on the weekend to see how we were doing after changing out a med. Care like that is rare in the medical field and even rarer to find someone of his caliber who cares so much about his patients. You would be fortunate to call him your primary care provider. The staff at the NSB location is all very professional and get us in quickly and follow up on bloodwork and other tests so you never have to wonder if the referral is going to call or if anyone looks at your test results. We could not be more pleased!

I have been going to Volusia medical in NS for many years. I recently got a new PCP Andrew Grenello. He is by far the best Doc I've had in a long time. His caring and compassion is top notch. He knew I was very nervous about some test we were waiting on the results to come back. He personally called to check on me. I truly appreciate everything thing he has done for me. He called me today with those results and I felt so much relief. Thank you Andrew for coming to Volusia medical!
