This place is amazing! The creativity simply oozes from every wall, crevace, and corner not to mention all the sculptures within the museum. If you can go, GO, you won't be disappointed. The young man who was our tour guide did an excellent job and was very informative (I am a question person and he was very patient).

This was such an amazing discovery. I had never heard of this artist but was intrigued by something I read online about the museum and the artist. It exceeded all of our expectations. It is only accessible for visitors who have booked a tour (8 ppl per) and the tours last approximately 90 minutes. Our guide was an architect formerly from NY who had first visited the museum 15 years ago and became a huge fan of the artist and his studio/home. It is one of the best art tours I have been on. Highly recommend.

Incredible experience learning about a very talented artist. The guide was VERY knowledgeable and quite fun to listen to for the 75 minute tour. A unique and fun thing to do. I'd be interested in returning for special events. Reservations have to be made well in advance, but the wait was worth it.

This was my second visit, after quite a few years. Should you visit, I hope you are fortunate to have Gay as your docent. As a docent, myself, at a Philadelphia location, I am quite aware of the good qualities necessary and she has all of them....poise, knowledge, amusing humor and learning about her audience.
But, the museum is an amazing building with an extraordinary collection of Wharton Esherick's talents. Come from far and wide.....don't miss it!

Worth stopping by for a tour! It was such a unique and interesting place to visit. You learn about the man himself and his creative mind through his work.

I bought my tickets ahead of time and I think that’s your best bet since they only allow 8 people in one tour at a time.

A testament to creativity and not conforming to the norm. Angles and architecture not following the rules. Use of space with pieces created, ingenious, and beyond interesting. A feast for the creative soul. Tour guide, flawless in their presentation and explanation. A must visit

We were delighted to discover this historic hidden gem that is just a short drive from Philadelphia. We look forward to returning with friends to experience the artist Esherick's ingenuity and artistry. Our guide was excellent! He drew upon his expertise as a master wood craftsman to provide insight into Esherick's incredible unique talent. He encouraged our questions and did an exemplary job in answering them. It was a rare treat to experience an artist's works in the environment in which they were created. Advance reservations are required to explore this intimate space.
