Beautiful ride to that place. The mountains 🏔️. The view and its very close to a beautiful small restaurant for food and ice cream in the middle of the woods.

The Rivulet Trail on the grounds is highly under rated, it is an old growth certified forest that is absolutely spectacular!

This spot rocks! Easy walk through beautiful old trees. Come hang, ingest the poetry and the overwhelming beauty of trees that have been around a long time.

Nice homestead house and red barn. No tours being given inside yet, and the person at the trustees was not sure when they were going to re open. You may walk the beautiful grounds and take pictures.

For the most part, the lower trails are accessible right now. There is a lot to see. The upper trail into the Sugar bush is Bear territory, and should be used with caution. There are two active bear cubs, and need to be given as much space to play as possible. In other places around the valley, bears bump into human territory once in a while. Here, it's their domain.
After I do some more visiting, I will update my review

The Rivulet Trail leads through a beautiful woodland and the occasional poems on signs adds to the experience. The view across the fields to the north is wonderful. The trails are easy to navigate, especially the Sugarbush, although the Rivulet does have a lot of roots if navigating uneven terrain is a concern. We saw a wonderful variety of fungi.

The property is well maintained, but lacks development. The house and barn could house significant displays of the life and times of Bryant and his descendants. Unfortunately other than a few postcards and pamplets, there is little to be learned here unless you happen to run into the caretaker and distract him from his work. There are at least two trails on the property, but little signage.

I toured this museum in 2004. The tour guide was a very young woman who seemed somewhat familiar with the background and homestead. She counted on her fingers how many bedrooms were there. Hmmmm, she was a sweet, young thing. The house was impressive. We wore slip on covers over our shoes to protect the carpeting. That was nice, keep it pleasant for everyone to enjoy. The grounds and yards were beautiful. It was well worth the drive and afternoon to get away. This was a pleasant piece of history, in a beautiful area. If I come back, I will return. 🙂
