We were staying in Denver for vacation and
decided to drop by on Monday after Thanksgiving. We were visiting Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre and this place was nearby. We did the self-guided audio tour that we can download for $8. We enjoyed the hike and stopping to see the fossils. There were educational signs which were helpful. The hike is on a paved road. It is a worthwhile and educational tour.

You can go straight to the trailhead and get your mileage in. Excellent experience with the dinosaur footprints and the terrain around the trail. We observed the points of interest on the trail but also did the whole trail on the ridge it was great and the views magnificent. Overall a great day in the sun. Come and see this place very interesting and family friendly. The hike was fairly easy to moderate in some areas.

About a 2 mile there-and-back walk, with the first mile uphill. Cool spot to check out some dino tracks. There is a hop on/off shuttle for 10 bucks or a bus tour for roughly $18 for those who may not be able or willing to walk it.

This was an amazing experience for our family! It was about a 2 mile walk up to the top and back, and the footprints, bone fossils, and ripples from the water that was once this high were absolutely incredible. We had our three little kids in a stroller and the older two did walk a large portion. Be sure to have sunscreen and water in the summer for kids and adults. This certainly was a highlight of our summer vacation!

The walk itself (regardless of which end you start on) is an uphill, and then a downhill. It is also on a paved road . Along the way, there are displays with information about what you are looking at. The buses move slowly, but you are sharing the road with them as they bring some of the tourists up and down. It was different than I expected but cool & if it’s the only thing you do, (not the Morrison museum or the exhibit by the visitors center) then it’s free!

In Golden for another event. This was a close drive and lovely and informative walk along a paved corridor. Many cyclists seem to love the challenge of the climb.
