Hier ist der erste Stop der Fähre. Leider wurde das Museum gerade renoviert und es war geschlossen. Jedoch konnte man hier direkt nach dem Anlegen einen Volunteer begleiten, der einem die Geschichte hinter der Insel näher gebracht hat. Es war sehr spannend ihm zuzuhören. Er gab uns auch einige Tipps mit auf dem Weg, damit wir die Insel nach belieben erkunden konnten.

This was our first break on the ruins trail, was so excited to come across a number of feral horses grazing. Out on the dock watched a number of dolphins feeding, one baby. To our surprise there were two manatees eating grass in the shallows around the dock. Very cool!

Right off the dock from the ferry is the Ice House Museum, very interesting place with a great selection of artifacts found from the early Timucaun people.

Beautiful island with feral horses. Great family day. There is so much more to see and learn than you may realize! Be ready to walk and be sure to take what you need for the time you spend there. Remember that whatever you take to the island with you that you need to take it back with you!

Very awesome place . Beautiful island. Deep history and feeling of freedom and peace of seclusion when you are there. You ride a ferry over. You can see beautiful feral horses and lots of other animals. Its great. The ruins are awesome. So beautiful. The museum has great info and cool artifacts.

Good location on Cumberland Island. The museum contains items and information from the islands history. There are also restrooms here and water fountain.

Great first stop once you get off the ferry! Lots of great artifacts and great information about this historic island! There are bathrooms which is great to stop by as they aren’t many once you explore the island!
